Wahguo was running now, straight towards the Hell Knight with two axes drawn and another in his mouth. He yelled out through clenched teeth, "Three-Axe Style..." He began to twirl his axes expertly, increasing his swinging force each twirl. When he reached the Hell Knight he collided with astounding force. "Dwarven Rage!" The sand near and around the Hell Knight exploded upward in a massive cloud as Wahguo did his attack. He finished standing several paces past the Hell Knight, hoping for some sort of reaction against what he knew was very strong metal armor. Meanwhile, Hweu was preparing to cast a particularly powerful spell, making sure to wait until Wahguo was a safe enough distance away.... Edited by Bobby, Dec 27 2012, 17:07.

The Hell Knight turned to face Wahguo at the last minute, the attack connecting head-on. The sound of metal striking metal resounded loudly through the desert. As the sand burst cleared, the Hell Knight, though his armor was undamaged, seemed to be struggling to retain his balance. He only righted his balance and planted his feet on the ground once more with great struggle. Turning around to face Wahguo, he began walking toward him. Though the Hell Knight was not walking very fast, the sight was definitely intimidating. An invincible armored demon, advancing slowly toward you. An unstoppable force emitting only the sound of clanking metal and raspy wheezing. Laying injured against the wall of the fort, Errol-nim looked out at the formor captor and new arrival. Looking down, the orc leader found the blow from the Hell Knight had punctured the chest of the suit of armor. Blood oozed from the hole in the armor, seeping from the wound and the bruised pink flesh. A pink-skinned orc? How pig-like. "Hell Knight-" the orc leader paused to cough, voice slightly hoarse in comparison to the deep, echoing voice from earlier. "Hell Knight is near-invincible! No weapon scratch armor! Magic only detterent! But have one weakness! While physical strength, endurance, and presence unmatched, Hell Knight is sluggish beast! Can only move at walking pace. Cannot change direction while walking! Must come to complete stop to turn round! Armored body so heavy, if knocked over, unable to pull itself back up! Only chance is knock it over, though this no small feat! Hell Knight stance like mountain!" But something wasn't right... all the stories of the Hell Knight mentioned it carrying a giant black sword forged of pure malice. But it was clearly unarmed right now... "You in there!" the orc leader called to Fas Gli, Guwael, and Geayj, still in the fort. "In kitchen to left of center square is pot of soup. Please bring to Errol! Errol know none you like Errol, but do so and Errol forever be in debt. Errol repay you!" |

Fas was scared for Hweu. She knew that his spells did not always work for him, and against the monstrosity, they needed everything to work perfectly. Fas wasn't as worried with Wahguo. The dwarves that she had known were tough and one with three axes seemed all the more tough. After Errol-nim made his plea, Fas turned to Geayj and Guwael. "No, let's not do it," she quickly answered. "Orcs are scum. Wahguo and Hweu are not from what I know of them. And besides, if we save him, he will want to...mate...me..." She shuddered. After again holding back her purging, Fas continued, "But Errol-nim did give us good advice. We need to find some way to knock him over in order to save Hweu and Wahguo. Maybe I could trip the Hell Knight with my hookshot. What do you guys think?" |

Wahguo noticed the attack had done nothing and he felt a little of himself die inside. Still after all these years of training, he was still unable to even make a scratch on the Hell Knight's armor. He backed away from the demon, looked to Hweu and nodded. Hweu saw the glance and then let loose his attack. To his surprise and annoyance instead of a devastating attack, a huge cloud of birds suddenly flew away from him. They hadn't been there a moment before. The birds all took off for the sky and were quickly lost to sight. Wahguo saw this and sighed exasperatedly, looking down. He let down his guard for a moment, enough that the Hell Knight could make an attack against him ((hint hint)). Meanwhile, Guwael was frozen in place. He didn't know what to do. His friends were out there risking their lives and he was just standing there. But if he went to help them then it was very likely that the Hell Knight would kill him as well as all of his friends. Then Vojh would be able to get Biowr back. He thought long and hard. Meanwhile the garum, Hirzud that had led Guwael and company to the base ran off for the kitchens and grabbed the pot of soup in his teeth. A little bit slopped out, but he was a strong garum and was able to drag the pot towards the orc leader. Hweu had since taught Hirzud common speech so the garum would be able to know what was going on around him. Meanwhile, Hweu saw Wahguo sigh and tried to make another attack to distract the Hell Knight from attacking his friend. He shot out lightning from his hand while trying to perform the ritual and it zapped a dark cloud in the sky. Suddenly the cloud began to light up and lightning danced around inside it. The cloud's energy spread to the surrounding rain clouds and it began to rain. A thunderstorm had just been formed. Damn it, though Hweu. You should help your friends, came a voice in Guwael's head. Biowr, he thought. Yes. Listen young one, I have the power to assist you in this dilemma. It's not worth the risk, he thought. A life without risks is a life not worth living. Silence. Or something like that. I don't remember the exact quote. Silence. I have the power to save them. You need only call upon my strength. I'm not sure I can do it. What if Vojh gets ahold of you? The feminine voice seemed to chuckle. You needn't worry about that, young one. Meanwhile, Geayj was annoyed that Guwael had stopped moving towards the exit. "You coming, Guwael?" Distractedly, Guwael responded with, "In a minute." "You can't think about this all day. The rains are coming and they'll do horrors to my silver armor." A raindrop landed on Geayj's exposed nose and he said, "Nevermind, it's already begun. I'll just have to buy some Rust-Away."... Edited by Bobby, Dec 27 2012, 17:13.

Errol-nim gave Hirzud a nod of acknowledgement and a shaky, unstable pat on the head. Lifting the helmet a bit, the Orc Leader began drinking down the soup. Miraculously, the wound on Errol-nim's stomach began closing up, albeit the shed blood and hole in the armor remained. Setting the pot aside, still about 2/3 full, the orc leader turned back to the action. "Careful! No let guard down! Hell Knight slow, but capable powerful charge! Like hit by charging rhino!" The Hell Knight turned to Hweu, taking a few heavy steps forward. Leaning forward, it abruptly charged. It wasn't a fast charge, but there was evidently a great deal of power in the creature's dash. And he was charging straight for Hweu. "No! Not him!" Errol-nim jumped up and ran forward, quickly catching up to the Hell Knight. The orc leader gripped the hammer and smashed it on the head of the Hell Knight, to no effect. The beast halted, almost falling over from the sudden halt of momentum. It turned around and rose both arms. Errol-nim quickly locked arms with the armored demon, attempting to hold him. "Go! Go now! Errol hold Hell Knight! No worry for Errol! Errol must protect mate!" Even with the strength of an orc, the Hell Knight was quickly overpowering the orc leader. The orc leader's armor was creaking and rattling from the sheer power of the Hell Knight. Annoyed that the others had completely disregarded what she said, Fas turned towards Geayj and Guwael. She was hoping that they came with her. The orc leader had told them to leave, and she was happy to oblige. She began to run but all of a sudden she was stopped for some reason. In her own mind, she was in a frozen wasteland. "Yo, what's up, toots?" a man greeted. Fas looked over and rolled her eyes when she saw that the man was Potentium. "Not you again," she replied, annoyed. "Not me, again?!? Now you listen here babe. I may not have any limbs and I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed and I may be a few pages short of a book, but I know what's wrong and that's why I'm here. You just hate orcs so much because they are similar to goblins, right? You think that they are evil," Potentium declared. "You have never given them a chance." "Don't take his side!" Fas exclaimed. "He wants to--" "I know," Potentium interrupted. "But if you save his life, you will also be saving your other friends' lives as well. Hweu, Wahguo, Guwael, Geayj and Errol-nim, despite their considerable skill, may not be able to defeat him. If you and I help them, the Hell Knight may be defeated. Besides, you dislike evil and Errol-nim is fighting it right now. The enemy of your enemy may be your enemy. No wait, I mean friend. That's how the old saying goes, right?" "He told us to leave," Fas protested. "And I'm telling you to stay," Potentium laughed. "It's ironic. Come on, toots! Who are you going to obey? Some random orc tribe leader (whom you hate, by the way) or your RELIC?" Fas was now back to reality, and took a heavy sigh. "Your mate can protect herself," Fas remarked. She turned around to face the Hell Knight despite Errol-nim's insistence for her to leave. She drew her broken sword from the sheath on her back. Fas held the broadsword out in front of her with an instensity that was unwavering. Her fingers gripped the hilt tightly as she was resolute. Her deep, brown eyes sparkled in the firelight. Her hair began flowing behind her in the wind like a river of gold. Her eyebrows furrowed, her muscles in her sinewy body tensed, and her lips slowly opened. In barely more than an audible whisper, she said, "Break, Potentium." Edited by True Red, Mar 4 2010, 14:48.

As the grapple hold went on, Errol-nim's armor began creaking and rattling more and more. Fas said the release command for her RELIC, but rather than distracting the Hell Knight, it overpowered Errol-nim, sending the orc leader tumbling away into the sand, various pieces and parts of the orc's armor flying and landing strewn across the sand, revealing pink skin and a plump body. The loss of one of the armor's boots revealed the orc leader to also be a bit shorter than originally thought. The Hell Knight turned to face Fas, the energy of her RELIC's release swirling around her. Though a RELIC was not magical in the sense of magic from Strednipuda and Mythica, the Hell Knight could no doubt feel the power. They say that as much as the Hell Knight enjoys slaughtering, he even more enjoyed a challenge. And for the Hell Knight, a challenge was hard to find. It's heavy, raspy breathing seemed to raise in volume, as if in rabid anticipation. |

The RELIC shone with light, and as others watched it, Fas did too. Even she did not know what would happen. As Errol-nim tumbled away, Fas couldn't help but stifle a laugh. And he thought that he could protect her. The Hell Knight didn't seem to be intimidated at all which made Fas uneasy. Her RELIC grew and then as the light went away, Fas saw her RELIC in its shikai form for the first time. The handle had stayed the same, but the blade had changed. It was now two blades, one on each side of the hilt with a space in between the two. Each blade was roughly the length of a standard katana but with a thicker blade. One of the blades was pure metal that sparkled and shined as it looked well-polished and was straight. The other blade was rusted and dirty. It also had scratches on it, was a lot darker, and was undulating. Fas heard Potentium's voice inside her head. "Sup? Hey, is this thing on? Yeah, this is Potentium. I feel great! Almost like I have limbs! Yahoo! Thanks girl. The two blades of me represent the two sides of your personality. Weird how that works, but I'm not complaining. One is nice, kind, wants to serve your fallen tribe, and beautiful. Others look upon that Fas with great respect and dignity. That's the shiny one. The other blade represents the other side of you. The rusty one. That side is hateful to anything other than humans, elves, or dwarves. It also shows your will to avenge your tribe rather than show how good it was. People look on that Fas with disdain and dislike. A blend of the two is what ya are now, toots." Potentium let that sink in for a bit before he continued, "But enough about you. Now about me. Each blade has a different effect. For the shiny one, ya need to say "Shine" for it to work. It'll shine light into the eyes of the opponent, but anyone that you don't want it to shine light into will not be affected by it. Pretty sweet, right? Also, that blade acts as a regular sword. I won't tell you what the other one does yet, but I will tell you that it acts as a flamberge, but that is not its special ability. The undulating blade causes vibrations in the opponent's sword which makes it slower. Each successive strike against the enemy's weapon after that makes the weapon even harder to move. I thought it was cool. Yeah, but that blade has a separate effect and the two together have an effect. After all, you are a blend of the two, so it's gotta have an effect for a 'blend' of the two." Fas was glad that the Hell Knight was slow. Apparently, Potentium thought that all she needed was one of her blade's effects. This gave her time to devise a plan. She wasn't sure if she could though. With Errol-nim being cast aside, her last line of defense was gone. The Hell Knight was definitely frightening and facing just her now. Her voluptuous body was trembling with fear, but she needed to concentrate. Fas got an idea. She would shine the light into the Hell Knight to hopefully distract him. As she would be doing that, she would wrap her hookshots around his legs. She remembered hearing that if the Hell Knight fell, it would be very hard for him to get up. If he continued to move with the hookshots around his legs, he would trip and fall and thus be beaten. She began. Edited by True Red, Mar 9 2010, 18:28.

The Hell Knight took a step forward, leaning to prepare for a charge. But the light shone toward its eyes, causing the the Hell Knight to recoil and cover its face, as if in fright. The normaly heavy, raspy breathing was replaced with what sounded akin to a breathy screech. The kind that made your blood curdle. |

Fas almost dropped her sword. The sound was nearly unbearable. The light flickered at this movement. She looked at her sword again to make sure that it would work. Both blades facing opposite directions were fine but the one that had the effect was getting dimmer. "Shine, Potentium!" she exclaimed. The light shone even brighter than before. Her hourglass-shaped body began to sweat as she ran around the Hell Knight as fast as she could, with the end of one hookshot lodged into the Hell Knight's boot. She finally finished with the first hookshot. It was around both legs. The Hell Knight was too distracted by the light to catch her. Now she had to use her second hookshot. She shot it off, and sure enough, it lodged into the Hell Knight's armor again. His armor was struck so it did not hurt him at all, it just grappled his armor. She ran around the other way with her long, golden hair flowing behind her to tie his legs up. She knew that she needed two hookshots. He could break just one. As she finished, she took a step back. The light turned off and Fas took a step back. Then, she said with a hint of mockery, "Bring it!" She hoped that he would be angered and try to walk towards her and fall. |

As the light subsided, the Hell Knight uncovered its face, its rapsy breathing getting louder and seemingly angrier. The armored demon charged forward with the force of a rampaging stampede. As the chains tightened on its legs, its upper body went forward without its legs. Caught, he leaned forward, teetering on the edge of falling and standing upright. With a battle cry, Errol-nim jumped forward and bashed the armored demon on the back of its head, busting the stone hammer to pieces from the strength of the blow. That had done it. The Hell knight teetered forward to the point of no return. It hit the sand hard, the ground shaking from its massive weight. All was still for a moment. Then the air was filled with the sounds of a deep, guttural, almost unnatural laughter. "GEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!" Only the Hell Knight could make such a laughter. Gradually, a black smoke began forming off the downed demon and dispersing into the sky. The Hell Knight's downed form began to fade, as if evaporating into the dark smog. The miasma faded, only an indent in the sand and the bloodied bodies of an entire tribe of orcs left as evidence the Hell Knight had been there. They had done it! Errol-nim was laying on the ground, armor in shambles and falling apart, feet, hands, and patches of pink skin clearly visible. "Yes! You done it!" The orc leader struggled to get up, eventually standing and limping over to Hweu and Wahguo, pieces of armor falling off with every step. "Though Hell Knight been bested." the orc tribe leader began. "Was too late save Errol's tribe. All orcs in tribe dead. Errol have no place go. No family. No followers. No allies. No nakama." The orc leader gazed down solemnly, but gazed back up at their faces once more. "But Errol still have mate. Errol want travel you. Errol must stick by mate's side." The orc turned and kneeled in front of Hweu, grasping his hands. "Errol want be with husband!" |

Nevermind. Potentium did his job. "What?" said Guwael. Geayj face-smacked himself and said, "We gotta go, Guwael. That Hell Knight is gonna," then seeing that Fas had defeated him he finished quietly, "kill us." Then when the orc leader approached Hweu and said the husband comment, Geayj burst out laughing. "I swear. I'm straight! You're a jackass, Geayj!" roared Hweu in rage. Then turning back to the orc he pushed the orc's arms off his own and said, "Sorry Errol, but I don't swing that way. Also you'd have to ask our unofficial leader if you wanted to join." Geayj's laughter erupted even more powerfully. Guwael knew he was being mentioned and he approached the orc. "You started this whole mess, but in the end you helped fix it up. I'm fine if you were to join us." Geayj, Hirzud and Hweu's jaws fell. Wahguo sheathed his axes and just shrugged. "Fine by me." Guwael then turned to Fas and hesitantly asked, "Do you think you could help me get to know my own RELIC? Biowr, my RELIC, says that your RELIC may be able to help me." Guwael hoped the question sounded like an offer to continue traveling with her all the way to the Lastol Mountains. He had to know how to control his RELIC before he went up against the awesome might of Vojh. Geayj winked at Fas. Wahguo began weight-lifting with a large fragmented piece of the fortress wall using only one finger. I must get stronger, he thought. Hweu moved away from the orc leader and said, "Sure you can join us, Errol, but only if you stop being such a creeper. You creep me out. There I said it. I'm sorry, but it's true." Geayj burst out laughing again.... Edited by Bobby, Dec 27 2012, 17:12.

As the Hell Knight fell and was defeated, Fas again heard from Potentium: "Hiya lady-type! Nice job. That actually felt pretty good. Good job not getting yourself killed," Potentium joked. "Anyway, this'll probably be goodbye for a little while. I'm a little tired, and you should probably get good at using that generic attack and that shape of the sword before I continue to tell you about my awesome self. You already are pretty good with my sealed state. But just one thing, why do you think I'm helping you? A RELIC doesn't necessarily HAVE to obey his owner." "Well, for one thing, you said that you were stuck in that sword for a long time, and you probably wanted to see some action," Fas suggested. "Well, yes," Potentium remarked as he thought it over. "But it is more than that. Think more." "Oh no," Fas said, annoyed. "Is it because you think I'm attractive?" "What? Well there's that," Potentium laughed. "Hey, you try being trapped in a sword for as long as I have, lose all your limbs, and then tell me that the first guy you see isn't ten times better-looking than they normally would have been." Fas rolled her eyes and then glared at him. "Not to say that you didn't already--oh whatever. No. You clearly aren't thinking what I am thinking so I'll just tell ya, toots. It's also the reason that I was finally awakened. You found your will to fight and your resolve. Also, it was a resolve that I approve of. Before, the only reason you fought was because you hated goblins and orcs. Now, you are actually trying to protect people. I approve. Anyway, time for some sleep, toots. I wish I had a night light." Fas noticed that the frozen wasteland had gotten a little warmer and she spotted a few plants growing. Then when the orc leader approached Hweu and said the husband comment, Fas caught herself for a moment and then smiled in a broad grin. "Ha! I wasn't the mate after all. It was you!" Then, her grin quickly faded. She felt bad for Hweu and asked herself, "I was going to be used for comparison?" She shrugged and then decided that it was okay if Geayj was laughing. After Guwael had accepted Errol in as part of their group, Fas was furious. She had left her previous group to get away from these sorts of creatures, and now here was an orc joining them. Then Fas remembered what Potentium said about giving them a chance. Fas could never forgive goblins, but she would give orcs a try. She swallowed. Guwael asked Fas about her RELIC and she was surprised. "You have a RELIC too? I noticed that your blue armor was kind of strange, but is that a RELIC? That is so cool that you have one too. Tell me, is yours a little eccentric? Because mine drives me crazy. I'll help as best as I can, Guwael, but I'm no expert. My RELIC only started talking to me because I found my resolve. Maybe your RELIC just needs to know what your real goals are and maybe you'll be able to use it at will. I guess you know its name. Do you know its action command? That might help to learn more about it and how to use it. I've only just barely begun using its effects. It might take a while, so I hope that you plan on being with me all the way to the Lastol Mountains at least. I still need to find that scholar guy." When Geayj winked at Fas, Fas blushed, but it was hard to see because it was at night, and Fas was already very tan. "I'd rather not allow Errol-nim, but..." Fas thought it over. "I guess it's for the best." |

The former orc leader laughed wildly. "No worry! Errol no be creepy! Errol be good mate for Hweu! Wa ha ha ha! Just let Errol change to better cloth for travelling. Armor in pieces, yes?" The orc stepped away and disappeared inside the inner rooms of the fort, now empty save for the bloodied and slaughtered bodies of dead orcs... . . . . . . . . . . "Errol ready!" Whuh? That voice didn't sound like Errol-nim's... "Oh, one thing. Call Errol Errol. Nim just title for leader of orc tribe. Errol no leader of tribe anymore." HO'SHIT!!! Wow.... That certainly explained a lot... "What?" the orc asked. "Why you all stare at Errol like that?" |

Geayj, Guwael, Hirzud, Hweu, Reghb, Wahguo, Fas, Errol "Well it's just that," began Wahguo, jaw still on the ground. "We thought you were," continued Hweu. "A male," finished Geayj. Guwael found it uncomfortable to look at Errol's minimal attire and said, "Despite this sudden and unexpected turn of events I still accept as part of our group." Then recovering somewhat he said, "Now let's head out to the Lastol Mountains quickly before Vojh's forces reach us." Hweu spoke up, "I know a secret path that will get us there with minimal interference from Vojh's forces." The others looked at him in annoyance. "What? You never asked," said Hweu. "Anyway, it's a path that was long ago used by the mages of Střednípůda (back when there were still widespread mages here) to avoid the many roads guarded by the then very much alive and very much as powerful Vojh." Then he added, "You guys do know that Vojh is centuries old right? He has plagued this continent for a long time and is extremely powerful." "That's why we have you, Hweu, you're the history geek," said Geayj, shouldering his pack and hopping onto his large horse. Guwael got onto Reghb and said, "Lead the way, Hweu." Hweu hopped onto Hirzud and said, "Alright, make sure to keep your eyes on me. The way can get pretty confusing later on." Wahguo offered his horse to Errol. He needed to get stronger in order to keep up with his friends power. "I'll just run alongside you guys." "That's an idiotic move," said Guwael. "But I'll allow it. You're free to hop on Reghb when and if you get tired." "My thanks, Guwael," said Wahguo. ((I'm not sure if Fas has a horse, but Geayj would be willing to help her by sharing his)) And with that the group of 6 travelers and their mounts sped off.... Edited by Bobby, Dec 27 2012, 17:12.

Fas was surprised that Errol was female, but knew something was up when she had said the Hweu would be her husband. She was also a little jealous that she was getting so much attention because she had dressed inappropriately. Fas thought that she looked like a pig, but was happy that there was finally another female in the group. She was a little uncomfortable being around all the males. Fas was glad that Hweu knew of a secret passageway. Hweu always seemed like he was the more intellectual one of the group, so she was not surprised. The desert nomad also wondered why Wahguo gave up his horse and preferred to run, but chose not to question it. She knew dwarves always had their reasons. Fas had difficulty getting onto Geayj's horse, but as soon as she did, she wrapped her arms around Geayj and held him tightly to her body. "Sorry, I've never ridden a horse before. There were none in the desert; we used to travel either by foot or by camel." She looked uneasily at the steed under her, and felt Geayj's robust frame and felt a little better. She rested her head on Geayj's muscular shoulder from behind because as soon as she sat down, Fas realized how tired she was after the fight. Potentium's ability sure took a lot out of her. She hoped that she would get used to it... |

Errol gazed downward sadly. "Unforchantly, all mounts slain by Hell Knight in defense of base." She looked up, smiling. "Errol will have tame wild beast soon for new mount. For now... Errol ride with husband!" The orc approached Hirzud, but instead of mounting him behind Hweu, went around to his head. "Good boy, dog beast. Good boy." she cooed, stroking his head-fins. Though Hirzud was a bit nervous, it paused when a few slices of raw bacon, uh... peeled off of the orc's skin at her exposed midriff and fell into her palm. She fed them to the Garum, who happily ate them, wagging his tail. The orc stepped around to Hirzud's side. "Move, husband." she demanded. Without even waiting for a reply, Errol climbed onto Hirzud's back, shoving Hweu behind her, farther down the Garum's back. "Let ride!" the orc announced. |
