Fas Gli and Hweu were lead down the desert, over the dunes and through the rocks. One of the orcs chuckled. "Yes! The both of you make good offerings for Errol-nim." Another orc spoke up. "Errol-nim is our leader. Most powerful orc in tribe! Errol-nim has request for one male and one female of human-like shape. One for comparison! One for-" "Druck! Don't spoil it! Save for surprise!" "Sorry." "Is okay. Just make sure prisoners firmly secured on way there. And no harm them. Errol-nim wants them alive. Geh-heh-heh-heh!" Up ahead, warped by the heated air, was what looked like an encampment surrounded by walls of large wooden logs, sharpened to points at the top. It was possible that the encampment had been found by the orcs, as opposed to built. It was doubtful that the orcs would have carried that much lumber from a faraway forest outside the desert and brought it here. The large wooden gate had two orcs stationed on either side of it, as well as two more atop the walls on either side of the gate. Several other orcs were stationed on platforms atop the wall, maintaining watch for intruders. |

The shaking of the carriage caused Hweu to wake up. "Wha-what?" he mumbled. He noticed the girl that had joined their group lying next to him in the straw of the back part of a carriage pulled by four very strong-looking dogs. He had seen those dogs before...suddenly he remembered! Scenes of his abduction came flooding back to him. "The Blue Armor!" he blurted out suddenly. He stifled himself and one of the orcs turned around and whipped him with a cutlass. "Shut up! You knocked out." "Meh," said Hweu. "I don't feel like it. However, my head really hurts. Lucky I was wearing this studded leather robe. That whip could have hurt as well. Those nasty spikes on it should be trimmed off." "Shut up!" The copilot orc suddenly turned around and began to beat Hweu. The carriage entered the gate and two orcs leapt down from the top and asked for something. "Two humans. For Errol-nim," said the pilot orc. The two orc guards let them pass. One of the guards said, "Wasn't there third in party?" The pilot turned his head, not wanting to talk about it. Seeing their faces, the guard realized they had struggled to attain these two prizes. "I notify family." The pilot and copilot orc nodded their heads. Then the dogs started pulling the carriage back into the gate. No one saw him, but a wolf-like creature snuck into the camp as well.... Edited by Bobby, Jan 10 2013, 11:05.

The carriage stopped in front of a small dwelling without the old reoccupied fort. The two orc drivers got down from the reigns and grabbed Hweu roughly by his arms. Another orc walked over to pick up Fas Gli, albeit more gently. The two were dropped and set down inside of the small dwelling, furnished with just two hammocks. "You two wait here. We go tell Errol-nim. Guards and hounds station outside. When female wake up, we take you to Errol-nim. We bring food in moment. Errol-nim's meat very good. Vegetables and fruits not so much. But we bring some anyway." The two orcs left, looking quite pleased that everything was going so smoothly.... so far. Though... one had to wonder how the orcs were able to aquire vegetables and fruit in the middle of a harsh desert... They had mentioned their leader had a Crystal Power. Could this Errol-nim grow plants? But that still left the question of what they were using for meat. There didn't seem to be any livestock kept here... Unless they ate their hounds when they got too old... |

Fas woke up with a headache. She had a very peculiar dream about a limbless man. She wasn't sure if it was real or not, but just in case, she would say the words that he told her if she got in a tight spot. She groggily looked over and saw a mage near her. She crawled over to him and whispered, "So, we got captured by these orcs, eh? Do you know what they want?" "And by the way, I don't believe I've caught your name. I'm Fas Gli," She greeted as she held out her delicate hand. |

An orc stepped in and threw two bowls into the dwelling. They appeared to be filled with slices of pork, with some slices of carrots and celery as well. Both were cooked, albeit poorly roasted. "Errol-nim say you two honored guests. After have eaten, we take you Errol-nim. Errol-nim say you keep weapons as sign of trust. Gort disagree, would rather bash heads in. But Gort no question Errol-nim." Outside, several of the orcs could not help but wonder about the unusually dark clouds looming on the horizon, casting neither rain, wind, nor a bolt of lightning. It was eerily calm, in fact. And several of the orcs were openly discussing the thin, faint traces of mist beginning to rise. Many could feel that something ominous was coming... With the signs only just beginning, none of them knew of what was about to transpire. For the literal Angel of Death was about to descend upon this tribe of Orcs... |

Hweu's head was killing him. The orcs had hit him over the head when he struggled against their efforts to take him out of the carriage. "I'm Hweu," he said, extending his spindly mage hand to complete the handshake. "I have no idea what they want." He took a deep breath and noticed the food by the door. He was feeling pretty hungry, but he smiled. "You really think this food can satisfy a mage?" He laughed aloud and then began casting a spell to summon good tasty food. "With this spell I will summon some good and tasty food," he explained to Fas. There was a puff of steam and before them was a bowl filled with what looked to be steamed gruel. "This was always a hard spell for me. I'm sorry for the crappy food, miss Gli." Noticing that the food was actually not that bad, but just not cooked well enough he said, "Do you think I should heat up the pork with my magic? I'd do it for you, milady." He hoped his poorly-taught etiquette came through for him. Fas seemed like the princess type. Either that or the last-remaining-of-her-kind type. Hweu was bad these things. "Also, who do you suppose Errol-nim is?" said Hweu. Then trying to be manly and impressive he added, "I bet I can take him."... Edited by Bobby, Jan 10 2013, 11:20.

"The food isn't that bad comparatively," Fas answered. When she was alone in the desert, there was not much to eat so she was used to it. "And if you don't mind, that'd be good if you could heat it up." Fas rubbed her head. She had more time to recover than Hweu. Fas was impressed with Hweu's ability to make food out of thin air, but she wasn't really sure about mages. They had always seemed so strange to her. Fas had never really had a feel for magic. Her boots were the only thing close to that. As she took the gruel and listened to Hweu's question, she brought her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them. "I'm guessing he's the one in control of these orcs. Yeah, I bet I could take him too," Fas did not notice the Hweu was trying to impress her. "I hate orc scum. The only thing worse than an orc is a goblin." She trailed off, remembering her last encounter with a goblin. Then, realizing that they would probably be together for a while, she asked as she swallowed a spoonful of gruel, "So, what's your story?" |

Hweu watched in alarm as Fas ate the gruel he had magicked up. "You don't-," he began before she began to eat it. "Well if you like it, what the hey." Hweu grabbed some of the pork and cast a simple spell to heat it up when the pork suddenly turned into a soda can. He stifled a sob and said, "My story is just like this. I use a spell to heat up some pork and get an ice cold soda can. I mean it doesn't even make a bit of sense." Recovering some semblance of pride he said more confidently, "I come from an island in Lake Uthgib called Okonobi Island. It's an island where mages from across Střednípůda come to learn to master their magic." Then sighing he said, "I was always different from the others, though. I had a magical gift, which I guess could also be considered a curse. You see, many times when I cast a spell that is supposed to do one thing it not only does not do that thing, but it does something that is completely unrelated and nonsensical. I have the entire mage library memorized in my head, and I practice the gestures religiously, but no matter what I do I just can't do spells the right way a lot of the time. I graduated 4 years after I was supposed to due to this curse. But then I finally graduated and was sent out to find and protect something called "The Blue Armor". He's an alright guy, that Guwael, but Geayj is such a jerk. I can tell you're more into that type of guy, but what is a thinly-built mage to do against such muscle mass?" Catching himself before he revealed something he didn't want to he added, "But I think I've rambled on too much." During an awkward silence he said, "I don't mind orcs that much. Of course, I haven't met many." Thoughtfully he said, "But now that I think about it, I've never once met an orc that was kind or friendly in any way."... Edited by Bobby, Jan 10 2013, 11:19.

Fas listened with great interest to Hweu's story, and was a bit sympathetic to the problems he was having. Then, she froze. "What do you mean I'm in to--" Fas stopped and sighed. "Well, I guess if it's that obvious then yeah, I did think that Geayj was a hunk, but if he's a jerk, I'm not sure. I mean, it's hard to make a judgement on someone you just met. But anyway, don't let your mistakes get you down. You can use magic, and that in and of itself is special. I can't use magic." Fas didn't think Hweu had rambled. She had been the one who asked the question. "Well, no. I haven't met an orc who was kind or friendly in any way either." She paused and adjusted her broadsword sheath. She wondered what else she should tell Hweu. But he had told her a lot so she decided to continue. "Well, my story probably isn't any happier than yours, but seeing as though we are together for the time being, I might as well tell you," Fas continued, straightening her hair. "I come from a tribe of nomads in the desert. I was the daughter of the chief of my tribe. That is how I got this sword. It is a relic handed down from generation after generation to the leader of my tribe. Unfortunately, when I was younger, my tribe got into a fight with goblins and all of them were wiped out, except me. My father's broadsword was broken in that battle." She paused about to cry, but held the tears back. "Uh...excuse me. I have something in my eye." She wiped her eye with her hair and then finished. "If I could tell you why I was the only one that survived, I would. But as it stands, I don't know why." "That's part of the reason I came to you guys though. I want to know more about my tribe so that I can make sure that they are remembered and that I can carry on their tradition," Fas explained as she was almost sure now that she wouldn't cry. "I heard that their was a great keeper of knowledge in Otoya, and that is why I wanted to travel to there." After another awkward silence, Fas broke it by saying, "I say let's escape. It's gonna be tough, but with your magic, it might be easier than we think. What do you say?" She held out her delicate hand again towards Hweu. |

At that moment, a light shone into the hut from the entrance. An orc was standing there. "You come now. You meet Errol-nim." Two more orcs entered and grabbed them both by the arm, marching them out of the hut. The three orcs were leading them deeper into the abandoned fort, past the inner walls and many orcs attending to various tasks. When they passed the final barricade, they were at the end of the fort, where some wooden stairs led up to a wooden platform just below the outer wall, likely used for archers. None of the orcs seemed to notice that thick layer of dark clouds that loomed overhead with no thunder, no lightning, no rain. None of them seemed to be taking notice of the thin mist that was beginning to envelope the orc tribe base. Fas Gli and Hweu were lead up the steps until they came face to face with this tribe's leader. "All hail tribe leader! Strongest orc in tribe and provider of meat without end! Only orc with powerful Crystal Ability, used to ensure success of entire tribe! Hail Errol-nim!" Sitting there on a wooden throne was an orc covered in dirty steel armor. Though the orc's presence was not sinister, the heavy breathing from within the helmet was enough to unnerve some people. The orc, Errol-nim, was clutching a stone hammer, appropriately bearing resemblance to a pig-like nature. The orc leader seemed to gaze at the two of them for a while, before whispering something in the ear of a nearby orc. "It been decreed! Errol-nim has chosen mate! All hail Errol-nim new mate!" the orc announced loudly. After the nearby orcs cheered, the orc turned to Errol-nim excitedly, rubbing his hands together. "We prepare wedding feast, Errol-nim?" he asked. The armored orc stood up, standing tall. "Oh! Right! Errol-nim make comparison first!" The armored orc began walking toward Hweu and Fas Gli, taking slow, heavy steps, each step making a metallic clunking sound. "ERROL-NIM!!! TROUBLE!!!" The armored orc paused, turning to look at an orc that had just entered past the inner barricade. "Trouble! Trouble! Intruder come attack base! Big guy in black armor! Black as darkest abyss, four red glowing slit eyes! Ragged scarf blow in wind!" The armored orc visibly tensed. "We think may be Hell Knight, Errol-nim! Hell Knight come slaughter us all! Save us, Errol-nim!" The armored orc took off running, hammer held high. "What we do with mate and comparison?!" called one of the orcs holding Hweu and Fas Gli. "Guard guests! Ensure geuests safe until Errol return!" came the deep, echoing voice of Errol-nim. The three orcs holding Hweu and Fas Gli looked at the one by the throne. "Leave them be! This Hell Knight! All must rush to defend Errol-nim!" Nodding with only a moment's hesitation, all the orcs rushed out from the inner barricade, leaving Hweu and Fas Gli alone, the sounds of slaughter and bloodshed resounding loudly from the entrance to the fort. Errol-nim rushed out to find an ocean of bloodied orc bodies strewn across the desert field. The orc leader's eyes locked on a figure that everyone had heard of, but few had seen with their own eyes. There he was. The figure was unmistakable. Full-body armor of intricate spined shapes, a dark purple-black in color. A spike on the toe tip of each boot, spikes along the side of the arm in a line. A helmet with large dark black-purple curved horns, with nothing to guard the face. Rather, the face was shrouded in darkness, with only four slanted red eyes gazing forth from the abyss with a glare that made one want to wet themself had their bladder not already packed its bags at the mere mention of this man. The long, flowing, incredibly tattered black cape, which seemed to flow in the wind despite the lack of a strong enough breeze, made him look ominous as he stood standing over the decicrated carcus of an orc. His appearance, his presence, this pressure in the air around all who gazed at him: He was unmistakable. A man who could not be reasoned with. Hundreds had offered him vast riches in exchange for their lives to be spared, but he killed them anyway. He lived only for the killing. He required no food, no water, no sleep, no rest. As long as he could kill and fight, he existed. The phantom warrior in the dark armor, never saying a word beyond a battle cry or a grunt: The fabled Hell Knight! "You kil Errol brethren?" came the deep, echoing voice of the orc tribe leader. The Hell Knight seemed to show no reaction to the words being directed at him. The only noise he made, and the one thing that differentiated him from an impostor: His wheezing. A raspy, throaty wheezing that emanated from deep within the Hell Knight's throat. No ordinary being could imitate such a truly horrific sound. Hm... The Hell Knight was merely standing there. Was he waiting for a challenge? It was said that while the Hell Knight often targeted specific people, he would usually work his way through the most powerful warriors in the area before killing them. As much as he enjoyed killing, it was said he also enjoyed a challenge, which was something few could give him. His appearance at the fort entrance clearly meant his target was Errol-nim. But if the Hell Knight is surrounded by nothing but fearful onlookers, or if he has killed all who had come at him, he will not move until someone steps forward to challenge him. Errol-nim was determined to give him that challenge. The orc tribe leader charged forward, hammer raised high. Despite the fearless look in the orc tribe leader's determined eyes, Errol-nim was visibly shaking. Many knew the stories of the Hell Knight well, including Errol-nim. They say he ended the civil war of Durkavia by stepping in and slaughtering the soldiers on both sides. Some stories say it was he who caused the entire island-country of Metalo to sink beneath the waves, never to be heard from again. Not even mermaids and fishmen dared go near the sunken land of Metalo, for fear of the curse of the Hell Knight. And Errol-nim was well aware that this phantom warrior was said to be completely immortal. No sword, spear, nor axe was said to make even a scratch on his armor. His sheer physical strength could match none. But no one slaughtered the subjects and brethren of an orc tribe leader. Errol-nim's hammer connected, but only the sound of stone striking metal was heard. The Hell Knight had raised his forearm, effortlessly blocking the hammer wielded by an orc's strength. With his other hand, the Hell Knight gave a bunch straight to Errol-nim's gut, punching right through the armor and sending the orc tribe leader flying into the wall of the abandoned fort. Yes, of course! Though the Hell Knight was not a speedy or agile being by ability, its invincible armor could block any physical blow, even from a strong orc. Ah. And, of course, despite not being agile, the Hell Knight was fully capable of charging forward for a good blow. It was said getting rammed by the charge of the Hell Knight was like getting run over by a boulder. It looked like this was the end. Edited by Cyberweasel89, Feb 17 2010, 12:59.

When the orc announced that Errol-nim had chosen a mate and looked at her, she threw up all the gruel that she had eaten from Hweu. Fas tried to hide this from Hweu because it was disgusting, but she really couldn't. After she wiped her mouth off, she told him. "Okay, now we seriously need to get out of here. An orc as a--" She almost threw up again. "mate. That is almost as worse as a goblin being a mate. Plus, they are a different species, and well, that's just sick." Fas then saw the Hell Knight show up and was appalled by its wheezing and fearsome appearance. She pointed to the Hell Knight and mentioned to Hweu, "Even more of a reason to get out of here. If it gets past that perverted orc, he'll probably go for everybody else next. Not that I doubt your skills, but it seems like he could kill us." "The only problem is that I don't see anyway of escape as the orcs are depending on Feral Him or whatever for protection. Do you have any ideas?" Fas's pretty, deep, brown eyes plead with Hweu. |

Hweu was pissed that he was to be the comparison for the human race. He complained until he realized that this Errol-nim had ignored him as was facing the threat outside the fortress. His complaining caused him to not notice Fas's puking and he realized as he saw the orc leader hit the fortress wall with immense force that this Hell Knight guy was not to be taken lightly. However, Hweu couldn't help but feel sorry for the orc leader. Here he was enjoying what seemed to be a perfectly normal — well, normal for orcs — festival when suddenly some crazy guy attacks, kills all his comrades and then beats him up with one attack. He felt compelled to help, despite knowing that Fas would want nothing to do with it. "You stay here if you want to, milady. I will help this Errol-nim guy keep the other guy at bay long enough for you to escape." He turned to look at her and noticed she had gruel on her chin. "You've got - uh - some gruel on your chin there." He made a motion of wiping his chin, then said, "Don't worry about me. I know some spells that I've been waiting to use." Hweu took off for the fortress entrance to assist his former captor and, unless he helped, soon-to-be dead captor. Just then there was a crash and a huge hole was blown open by sizable explosion. Guwael stepped forth into the camp in his blue armor which was in its shikai state with Geayj, Hirzud and Wahguo right behind him. Hweu stopped and looked questioningly at the new arrivals. "Don't ask how we found you," said Geayj, before Hweu could speak. "Your annoying chatter could be heard for miles." Guwael knew that it had been Hweu's pet garum that had been the true cause for how they found them, but he didn't want to offend his friend Geayj. Hweu felt angry again, but held it back, saving it for the upcoming fight against the knight. "What do we do?" asked Hweu to Guwael. "I suggest we escape from here before that orc leader comes ba-," he began until he caught sight of the hundreds of dead orcs and the approaching form of the Hell Knight. "Er - before that crazy demon thing gets here." They began to go back towards the exit they had made, until they realized that Wahguo had stayed behind. Turning back Guwael asked, "Aren't you coming?" Wahguo didn't look back. He only said, "I'll handle this guy." Geayj looked at the others and then burst out laughing. "You've gotta be kidding me. There's no way you could take on the Hell Knight alone and survive. Let alone win." "I'm willing to take those odds," was all Wahguo said, putting one of his axes in his mouth. Hweu looked to see that Geayj and Guwael were walking off. Hweu felt a moral obligation to help the orc leader. He turned around and followed after Wahguo. Geayj looked back and saw that Hweu was going too. "Idiot." He noticed Fas and said, "Why don't you come with us, babe. Those idiots won't last five minutes against the Hell Knight." Guwael felt torn inside. He felt a strong bond between his two companions that were going up against what could very well be their death. But at the same time he knew that if he were to be defeated that his blue armor would be found by Vojh and the war would be over almost before it had begun. He wasn't sure what to do....
