Hot didn't even begin to describe the sweltering heat that only a South American jungle can generate. You practically felt as if you were swimming in the sweat that your body produced as you walked.

Even in the shade of buildings with "air conditioners" it still topped at almost a hundred degrees. It might not have been so bad if the beer had been cold. But it wasn't. Besides, he didn't really trust what was in the local concoctions anyhow. Instead he shelled out the extra to buy an unopened bottle of liquor.

Leaning back he ran a hand through his sweat drenched hair. He knew he needed to lay low for a while, his last arms deal had almost got him caught. But looking back, he could have probably picked a cooler location.

"Next time I think tropical... I'm hiding in Barbados."

Kurt

Kurt strolled lazily into the bar and sat down beside Genesis. "Man this heat is unbearable." "Why you picked a spot like this I still wonder," said Kurt to Genesis. "So I have a job for you and beer with good payment. 10 grand a week for just being a N.A.T.O merc and another 15 grand for any special jobs." "Your decision. If you want in go to The Summit. Your mobile suits transponder is already resgistered." Kurt stood up and set a cold beer down beside Genesis.

As he felt the added heat of another person next to him, he moved his eyes to look out the corner, seeing Kurt through his peripheral vision. 10,000 a week, plus 15,000 for "special" jobs... We'll it was the best offer he'd had in a while. Besides, he was sure that NATO probably had some new toys that would work well in the shop he was setting up.

Taking the beer in hand, he followed Kurt out the door. Lighting a cigarette and taking a drag as he alternated between that and the beer, falling into step next to the other man.

"It all sounds like a really nice gig. But before I say yes, I wanna make one thing clear." He took a few steps forward to stop in front of Kurt, so the other man would have to stop or bump right into him.

"If you came looking for me, it's cause you need me. That's all fine and good. As long as you pay me I'm all yours. Do what you want me to do, kill who I'm told to kill. But I've also got my business to worry about. So I want assurances that I'm not going to be hassled about my shops. If you can agree to that, then you have a deal."

Walking past two peoople who were talking outside of a rundown lookign bar in the middle of the Amazon, Kannon observed his surroundings. He was in the middle of nowhere. This was nothing like Russia. It was all humid, no sign of the nice european wind that kept him cool. It was a nice muggy 106 degrees F. This heat would kill him before anything, or anyone, else. Now he just had to find the mercenary named Genesis that he had heard had fallen into a slump of hanging out at this particular bar. Noticing that one of the two who were talking outside of the bar had a beer in one hand, while taking drags from a cigarette in the other, Kannon reached out and snatched the beer from his hands. The mountains on it were blue. It was the perfect temperature to cool him off.

"Thanks friend, i was.....parched," said Kannon, walking past him towards the entrance to the bar.

Kurt

Kurt wasn't sure whether that was calculated or pure dumb luck that Kannon hadn't recognized him. He decided against doing anything considering he had left his P-950 in the cockpit of his GM Sniper that was hidden in the thick foilage. He didn't think he could cover the ground and assasinate Kannon with his hidden blade before Kannon had drawn Karma. "Don't worry I have more beer," said Kurt to Genesis.

Genesis watched as his beer was taken from his hand as the man with the noticeable thick Russian accent. Raising an eyebrow he brought the cigarette back to his lips. "Apparently I've just been robbed."

Taking out his bottle of Jack from his pack that he'd bought in the bar, he took a pull off it. Making sure that he has it in the hand that no one can take it from him. "It's okay, I've got it covered." He smirked.

Recognizing that taunting voice that he had heard over the comm radio too many times to count, Kannon spun on his heals, stopping and staring at the two who had turned their back on him to talk some more. Gripping the beer bottle in a white knuckle grip, Kannon Analyzed the situation. He had two targets. He now recognized Kurt, the familiar figure that always stood just outside of his grasp. He wasn't sure how he hadn't seen it before. Maybe the heat really was getting to him.

Beside Kurt was the man whom he had just stolen the ice cold beer from. It took him a second to register that Kurt had actually once more beaten him to a target. The man was obviously Genesis. He matched every detail of the description he had been given by Warren to hunt him down, right down to the booze and cigarette ridden smell, as if he hadn't washed in a few days.

Walking back to where the two of them were standing, backs turned, Kannon whispered, "It's a good thing the neutrality ban has been lifted," while proceeding to raise up the beer bottle and bring it down crashing onto the back of Kurt's head.

Kurt

Kurt heard Kannon's voice and tilted his head to take the incoming blow at the curve of the skull where it would hurt less and lessen the possibility at a concussion. At the same time he drew his hidden blade and brought it straight back trying to hit Kannon's left kidney and liver.

Grabbing Kurt's wrist, Kannon twisted and pulled his arm to turn him around so that they were face to face. "I don't think we have ever been properly introduced in person Kurt. I am Kannon as you well know," said Kannon grinning and dropping Kurt's wrist.

Genesis watched the entire exchange, flicking the end of his cigarette butt away, the the Asian smuggler ran a hand through his hair to push the sweat drenched locks out of his eyes. The other hand with the bottle in it pointed to one and then the other. "Look, I hate to break up the obvious lover's quarrel you two have got going on... But if you two are going to start shooting and gutting each other, I'm gonna be stepping inside the bar. Ya know, if that's okay with you."

He stepped back away from them both, watching them carefully.
