A very minor case of serious brain damage

A rock-balancing artist has turned to the Isle of Man to showcase his gravity-defying creations.

Adrian Gray, 54, from Dorset spent a week on the island last month with photographer Mikael Buck creating the unusual sculptures.

He was commissioned by the Isle of Man government after they saw his work on the Channel 4 programme, Grand Designs.

Mr Gray said it has taken "thousands of hours" to perfect his skill which he insists involves balance alone.

The former expedition leader said he perfected his technique after becoming ill.

He said: "I spent hours wandering along the beach and began balancing stones as a kind of therapy."

Wow - these must require perfect balance. I can imagine they would be very frustrating to set up: I don't think I want to know how many times he tried and failed with each one before succeeding!

it's like making a supreme house of cards, it takes careful placement of every card and in this case stone.

WOW. Doesn't even look real to be honest, it's surprising to see stones balanced in that way without moving. Guess this guy is really skilled with that stuff.

Yeah. Even more surprising to me is how they stay up. I would have thought that just jogging them slightly would cause them to topple!
