http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-27477149 Exam board OCR is introducing a broader history A-level, after their head of history, Mike Goddard, said the subject had been criticised "for being too repetitive and having a 20th Century Western focus", and that "Hitler and the Henrys can dominate". The new curriculum which he plans to introduce offers the following options:
I think this is definitely a step forward. The only thing is, back when I was at school, not a lot of it would have interested me - but today, I'd have trouble choosing which options not to study !

When I was at high school, A-level History was about the French Revolution and the causes of World War I - which seemed very boring to me, and put me off completely. A real shame, since I enjoyed GCSE History so much .
