(Yes, I know we already have a "Formula One thread"....but I can't really put this in that topic without cluttering it.)

Let's suppose you run the show in Formula One. Money is no object, and you're allowed to put any drivers in whichever teams you want. Perhaps you feel that someone from further down deserves to be higher up; someone is on the grid because of his money and should be replaced by a higher-quality driver; or you want to go crazy and mix the grid up altogether :P . There are a couple rules to this, though, as follows:

1) Any driver you choose must have done at least one of the following:
  • Raced in Formula One in 2012 or 2013;
  • Tested or taken part in free practice for a Formula One race in 2013;
  • Raced in GP2, GP3, Formula Renault 3.5 or another Formula One feeder series in 2013.
2) Any driver who retired on his own terms is ineligible, but drivers who lost their seat and consider themselves free agents are fair game. (So, no Michael Schumacher or Mark Webber.....but see rule 3)

3) You're allowed to add a fictitious 12th team to the grid if you wish. Just for fun, one of this team's two drivers can be a "joker". Rules 1 and 2 do not apply to this driver: it can be any racing driver, past or present, dead or alive, F1 or otherwise.

Here's my ideal line-up:

Nobody likes Maldonado, I see. I stuck him in a Marussia, and you've eliminated him entirely :P .

Yeah, I couldn't find a place for him in the grid :P .

Maybe he'll prove us both wrong this year at Lotus.

Maybe. Grosjean was the same way in 2012, but in 2013 he got it all together and became a quality driver - particularly in the second half of the year.

With that said, I'd be surprised. Grojean's problem was lack of confidence, but Maldonado's is hot-headedness.
