The ribbon will be awarded to anyone who can get it in the first 10 guesses. Rules: 1: one guess per post, not coping other numbers 2: Each member can ask a Yes/No question about the number after every three guesses that they make 3: The person who is doing it must keep track of what numbers were guessed 4: whoever gets the number can do the next one ( CJ can edit this with new rules if he wants to ) I'm thinking of a number, what is it? |

Seems like a good contest . I've made a couple of modifications, though: 1) Changed the ribbon from blue to yellow (blue is for word games, so I think yellow would be more appropriate). 2) I've introduced the following rule: "Each member can ask a Yes/No question about the number after every three guesses that they make." That's in there to introduce a little bit of skill, since posts and ribbons can't be given away as prizes for completely random guessing (but they can for educated guessing). I hope those are OK; if not, I'll be open to discussing it. |

So, are those rules OK? If so, shall we start? |

I think asking questions is a bad idea since it can make it really obvious on what the number is. ( I brought this from another forum and they had no hints on what the number is ) |

OK, then. The other thing I thought of is that you could say 'Higher' or 'Lower' after each guess. Or you could just run it with your original rules, as completely random guessing (with no hints on what the number is), and not give away any prizes for it. |

Example: Person guesses: 50 Response: Lower Thats 51-100 gone, like half of them so no higher/lower I still think if the person can do it in 10 guesses, they get the ribbon |

Sorry, but we have a long-standing rule that if the contest is decided by luck alone (which, in its original form, it is), then ribbons (and posts) can't be given away as prizes. If you want to give away posts and/or ribbons, then you need to include at least some element of skill. |
