Welcome to The Coffee House's first Connecting Contest! Here's how it works: I provide ten groups of three pictures. The three pictures in each group are connected in some way; your task is to find the connection between the three images. They're not in any particular difficulty order, but some will be easier than others. Prizes are as follows:
So, here are the groups! They're at quarter size, so click to enlarge: ![]() Correct answers: #1: All of South African origin (Nando's, J.R.R. Tolkien, Vuvuzela). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) #2: All have the initials "KK" (King Kong, Kim Kardashian, Kevin Keegan). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) #3: All involve Roman (Chester is a Roman city; the clock has Roman numerals; Nicki Minaj has an album called Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) #4: All had (Christmas) #1 hits in the UK (Mr Blobby, The Beatles, Bob the Builder). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) #5: Still open #6: All sound like letters of the greek alphabet (Psy/psi; Pie/pi/ Row/rho). Answered correctly by PL-Stokie (+10 points) #7: Still open #8: All names consist of alternating vowels and consonants (Goran Ivanišević, Honolulu, Macarena). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) #9: Still open #10: All examples of "RAS Syndrome" (ATM machine, ISBN number, LCD display). Answered correctly by HeroofDarkness (+10 points) Alternative connections: #4: All artists beginning with B (Mr Blobby, The Beatles, Bob the Builder) - Given by HeroofDarkness (+5 points) #6: All things beginning with P (Psy, Pumpkin Pie, Pivot Table) - Given by HeroofDarkness (+5 points) #10: All involve/require some sort of code. Given by Pokemon73 (+5 points) Scoreboard: HeroofDarkness: 70 ![]() PL-Stokie: 10 Pokemon73: 5 Good luck, everyone! Edited by CJ, Apr 29 2013, 05:05 PM.

I think that's close enough that I'll accept it. All have "KK" as their initials (King Kong, Kim Kardashian, Kevin Keegan). Now, here are some (probably much-needed) clues: Groups 6, 8 and 10 are all to do with names. Groups 4 and 7 relate directly to music. The pictures in group 9 are of a graph, a meter, and a pet respectively. Maybe I should do words instead of pictures next time. |

4) Not what I was thinking of, but I'll give you 5 points for an alternative connection if you can verify that they did all have songs on Tiny Pop. 6) I'm not sure what you mean, but it isn't what I had in mind. |

4) The other one is Mr Blobby, so I'll allow that as an alternative connection. 6) I'll allow that as an alternative connection too. 8) I assume you meant 10? That's more of a pattern than a connection, really; all of these are independent of the order in which they appear. |

They are, and the connection is to do with that, but it is something more specific than that. If someone else gets it, shall I split your points with them? |
