Here's an Oddball Wall. PL posted one of these ages ago on The Brick Wall, and now I'm reviving the concept. Here are the rules (mostly familiar; anything new is highlighted in red):
![]() Main combos: 1) Down / Firework / Poker Face / 3 - Reasoning open to anyone. (Combo given by thecostumedanceparty; +20 points) 2) Combo open to anyone. Fields (Reasoning given by PL-Stokie; +20 points) 3) 4) 5) Oddballs: 1) Open to anyone. 2) Marshal, since "Field" comes before it instead of after (Identified by PL-Stokie: +10 points) 3) 4) 5) Invented combos: 1) Ford/Temple/Stephen/Dance - Surnames (Invented by PL-Stokie: +20 points) 2) Ford/Heathrow Terminal 5/Vessel/Navy - Transportation (Invented by PL-Stokie: +20 points) 3) Navy/Vessel/Bomb/Nuclear - Relating to warfare. (Invented by thecostumedanceparty: +20 points) 4) Nuclear/Bomb/Magnetic/Firework - Energy (Invented by thecostumedanceparty: +20 points) 5) Magnetic/Vessel/Heathrow Terminal 5/Bomb: all having to do with airplane security testing (Invented by thecostumedanceparty: +20 points) 6) Bomb/Marshal/Dance/Bank - All both nouns and verbs. That's a correct main combo . The reasoning does have something to do with songs, but it's more specific. Oddball is incorrect. The rest of the combo is open only to you for 24 hours or a further 3 guesses (whichever comes first). |

I think you might only want to give the oddball to someone if they have the reasoning for it; my suggestion is being that you've pretty much now given me a 50/50 chance at guessing the oddball.

Good idea. Otherwise, it's too easy to get the oddball by luck/brute force. I've changed the rules: you get 10 points for the reasoning for the oddball, but none for the oddball itself. It's up to you whether or not you'd like to know that your guess for the oddball is correct (as this could help you, but could also help others). |

Nuclear/Bomb/Navy/Vessel: all words that can be paired together and all relating to war in some way -nuclear bomb -nuclear navy (link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_navy) -nuclear vessel -navy vessel -bomb vessel Also, is "Poker Face" the odd one out because it is two words? Finite/Bank/Semantic/Barking: the forum walls games Finite: There are generally a finite # of answers for regular combos Bank: The walls serve as a word bank Semantic: Each section of a wall serves some kind of "sign" or meaning to a much larger combo Barking: what we do when we're chaotically trying to figure out a combo or reasoning Odd one out is barking because it's a character trait, not a wall trait.
