5/7/10/14 - All have US ships named after them.

USS Marguerite (I think the flower is a blue marguerite)
USS Thornton (There's a couple of them)
For the other two, a lot of minesweepers were named after birds, so I'm just guessing with those.

@Daniel (1st): It's Hannah Montana. (Well, technically, it's Miley Cyrus playing her :P )
@Adam: Well, I haven't put a limit on the number of questions you can ask.
@Daniel (2nd): Excellent (you were right about the minesweepers too). Unfortunately, it's not a main combo, but you can definitely have 20 points an invented combo, plus another 10 bonus points.

Lots of questions. Please answer whatever is allowable. Thank you!

What is the guy holding in #3?
What makes the three birds different?
Is #17 from a television show, and if so, what?
What kind of car is in #6?
What kind of car is in #16?
May I please have the scientific names of the birds in pictures 1, 10, and 14?
What kind of flower is in #5?
What is the radar in #15 for?

The guy in #3 is holding a taser.
I think the second one is too general.
#17 isn't from any television show.
The car in #6 is a Proton Savvy.
The car in #16 is an IndyCar. The chassis was built by Dallara, the driver is Danica Patrick, and the team is Andretti Green Racing.
The scientific names of the birds are:
#1: Electron platyrhynchum
#10: Serinus canaria domestica
#14: Pica pica
The flower in #5 is a type of aster, known as a Blue Marguerite.
The radar in #15 isn't really for anything. It's just a graphic of a radar.

7/10/14/17 - All nicknames of Premier League association football teams

Everton are the Toffees
Norwich are the Canaries
Newcastle are the Magpies
Chelsea are sometimes known as the Pensioners

If it's an invented combo, you could also add 8 (Stoke are the Potters, and the book is about Harry Potter).

If this is right it's not probable for me to know because I'm not native of England... oh well.

I'll have to class that as two separate guesses: 7 / 10 / 14 / 17 and 7 / 8 / 10 / 14 / 17.

7 / 10 / 14 / 17 (your 4th guess for today) is a correct main combo, with correct reasoning.
7 / 8 / 10 / 14 / 17 is inadmissible, as the 5th guess is for main combos only.

True, but then, some of my other walls feature US sport.

Also, I've added your invented combo, which I forgot to add earlier. Sorry about that.

I see you're using an extra guess here :P ! I guess it's your 6th for today, since I counted the previous one as two guesses.

Anyway, that's a correct main combo and reasoning. The final main combo (4 / 11 / 15 / 16) is therefore automatic; the reasoning is still open.

Good guess, but incorrect.
Good guess? You know I didn't intend that to be right to begin with?
I actually have an idea now though.

4 / 11 / 15 / 16: circular patterns

Miley Cyrus' song Full Crcle
radar reading in a radial circle
car going around a circular/ovular track
petals of the flower form a circle

1/5/14/19 - All or part of a plant is visible in each picture

2/8/11/13 - All names of towns.
Tiger is a town in Georgia, US.
There are quite a few US towns called Potter. One is Potter, New York.
Eye is a small market town in Suffolk.
Montana is the name of a town in Wisconsin.

Is the reasoning behind the last combo that they are all associated to plaindromes (Hannah in Hannah Montana is a palindrome, the Sator square is associated to palindromes and radar is a palindrome, though I'm not sure about the last one)?

That's very good. Very different from the actual reasoning, but it's the sort of thing that could very well have been the connection.

I think you deserve some credit for it, so I'll allow it as an invented combo - even though the combo itself is a main combo.

@PL: Both of those are good invented combos, and your reasoning is correct. The palindrome for #16 is "racecar".

So, all of the main combos have been found, but I'll leave this wall open (now as an invented combo wall) until the closing date, or until 20 invented combos have been found in total. Since Daniel's exceeded 375 points, he wins a Posted Image Green Ribbon!

Green ribbon is too easy to get when only two people play, but whatever.

Maybe it could be tied to the number of players in the future, then? A possible structure for something like that could be:

450 points (if 2 people play)
350 points (if 3 people play)
300 points (if 4 or more people play)

BTW: Here's another idea for an invented combo:

1/10/13/14 - Only 1 eye is in the picture.

Well, the deadline has passed, so, this wall is now officially closed. My next wall will contain two modifications to the rules:

1) A sliding scale for the ribbon, where more points are required if fewer people participate;
2) The wall is closed immediately if 72 hours pass without a guess being made.

I may also restore clues via the PM system. I haven't decided on that yet, though.
