Interesting, but still not right.

Remember what I said: the link isn't just "green", but " Different senses in which the word 'green' is used." For example, 'green' can be used as an adjective meaning either 'eco-friendly' or 'envious'.

Well then it's got to be eco-friendly/hunter/envious/hurt which all signify green. Though I have no idea why...

Unfortunately not - you're actually getting further away again.

Is it this (for the green combo):

Envious/Eco-friendly/Colour/Lynch

Not sure about Lynch, though...

Envious/Eco-friendly/Colour/Operation for Green?

Not quite.

I'm sure you'll get there eventually!

envious/eco-friendly/color/murray: green

Andy Murray is a reference to tennis and the green on the court.

Nope.

The last word isn't just a vague reference to 'green'. It's another sense in which the word 'green' can be used.

Colour/Envious/Eco-Friendly/Tapes

I might as well use my fina l guess today, too:

Colour/Envious/Eco-friendly/Regis

Both are for the "green" combo.

Nope.

You're both getting very close, though.

Lynch/Murray/Hunter/Darling/Hurt - all are surnames. :P Need examples? Simon Lynch (Scottish-Canadian footballer), Andy Murray, Dale Hunter (former hockey player, a real gimp too), David Darling (classical musician), John Hurt (actor). BOOM.
Eco-Friendly/Envious/Colour/Pan - green... "Pan" is for "Pan-African." Green is one of the three Pan-African colours.

I'll allow the first one as an invented combo, since it doesn't contain any main combo as a subset. There is a main combo that has something to do with surnames, but it's more specific than that.

The second one isn't correct - I can't remember whether it's already been tried or not :P .

Eco-friendly/envious/hurt/colour - it's GREEEEEEEEEEEEN :P

Tapes/Pan/Regis/blank - all can have "try" added to them.

First guess is incorrect - this 'green' combo is proving to be a nuisance!

Second guess, however, is correct :) .

I'm more tempted to go FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF over the first one than YAY about the second. :P I think just about everything has been guessed for green.

I almost was going to say blank for that one too... *beats head on table*

I think we've covered all the names/surnames

Is the "green" combo:

Eco-Friendly/Envious/Colour/Surname

Also, if the blank space can be used, doesn't that mean that one of the words isn't in any combo?

EDIT: There's only 19 words, so the answer to my question is no.

Darn, was going to say the same thing but I had to wait 24 hours to do it...

Great job getting another 50 points because I know now for sure that is the combo.

I don't know anything else, and my will is gone, so I'm done here. :(

Plus, in the one where you add "try" you can theoretically add "try" to a blank space and make it a word.

Yeah, I get the -try one now. That was tricky!

I'm stumped right now, so here's a guess:

Alice/Leonidas/Murray/Lynch

Leonidas/Hunter/Volkswagen/Lynch: all car references

-Leonidas is the name of a racecar; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428569&page=15
-Hunter Olympus
-Lynch Toyota
-Volkswagen Polo

Murray/Leonidas/Lynch/Hunter: all relate to Quidditch in Harry Potter

-Eunice Murray is a Quidditch player (Montrose Magpies)
-Georgina Leonidas plays Katie Bell as a Quidditch player in the Harry Potter films
-Aidan Lynch is a Quidditch player (Irish National Quidditch Team)
-Hunter is an old term for "seeker"

Good invented combo :) .

Stick with Georgina Leonidas, because she'll show up again in the main combo.

Murray/Hunter/Leonidas/Lynch: all are cast members who play characters in Harry Potter films

-Evanna Lynch = Luna Lovegood
-Georgina Leonidas = Katie Bell
-Devon Murray = Seamus Finnegan
-Kathryn Hunter = Arabella Figg

Probably wrong because you said to keep one for the main combo, and this is the same as my last, but so far that's all I got.

Reasoning is correct, but I can't allow the combo, because two of those are used in the fifth combo (which would then leave one word on the wall unused).
