This one is challenging, but I'm not giving up. Problem is I've been looking these up, and some look like they're the same shades of blue, so it's hard to differentiate which are the real colors or not.

Electric/Liberty/Powder/Sky

All different shades of blue. Electric is very bright blue, liberty is pure blue, powder is a light blue, and sky is a lighter blue.

Almost! You've pretty much worked it out now. The only 'difficulty' is the bottom left, but remember what my very first clue was?

Well, I have one more guess I suppose. If it's wrong, the combo is up for grabs. But judging on the clues you gave me, I should be able to do it. Since the first clue was "nanking" I'll take my chances adding that one in.

That's it!!!!!

25 points for a main combo - and well persevered!

Thank you! Sorry to keep on imposing this one, I was just into this combo.

Oh, and you said all the answers have to be from different quadrants? I wish I was more attentive to this clue from the start. I never knew that was the case...

Well, that's all four of my guesses, but well worth the trouble.

Yes, it's one of the first things I said:

This time, we have 36 words (in 9 groups of 4). This time, though, the layout is significant: the wall is divided into quarters, each of which contains one word from each combo.

Since you didn't realize, I won't count your 'wasted' guesses (with two words from the same quadrant), which means you still have two guesses for today.

You know what, you can still count them. It's not your fault; the blame rests on me. If I was confused, I should have asked, and I should have read the directions over.

If you want, you can cut me some slack, but I don't think that's necessary. I should have paid more attention.

Well, they're there if you want to use them.

If you feel that you'd be cheating, and would rather not use them, then that's fine.

Nope - Adam guessed the 'blue' combo correctly a couple of posts up.

Your second guess is correct! The reasoning is along the right lines, but not quite right.

So, 10 points for the combo, but the reasoning is still open.

Yep, that's it!
So, at this late stage, PL is leading, but is only 15 points ahead of Adam. However, of the three remaining combos, one is the very hard one (50 points if you can get the reasoning), so HoD could still win this.

Also correct! Another 25 points.

That uses up your guesses for today, though.

So, I see you've decided to use one of your two guesses after all?

That is actually a correct group (and therefore, Rain / Chain / Pure / Rabies is automatic), but the reasoning is incorrect. Have 10 points :) .

Sorry, I just knew those were connected somehow. You can take one away for me the next day because now it's the hard part anyway.

Remember, you have unlimited guesses for the reasoning.

Also, Rain / Chain / Pure / Rabies is the 'very hard' group. The reasoning for that one is worth 50 points. No clues, though; you're on your own for that one.

Is the reasoning for Fixed/Congestion/Depth/Floating that they are all related to volume (with Congestion being Traffic Volume)?

And for Rain/Chain/Rabies/Pure - is virus the connection?

For the 50 post group, is Shot the connection?

For the same group, Reaction?

I'm just thinking of every word that's linked to Rabies right now.

For the 50 combo, do they all connect to the word "check."

As in...

rain check
chain check
rabies check
pure check

Sorry, but no.

It's not of of those that's connected by appending or prepending a word, so you're both thinking along the wrong lines for that one.
