The Coffee House is a friendly and informal community dedicated to having fun. We're a diverse bunch, and so we have plenty to offer, including:
  • Discussions on a wide range of subjects, from science and current events to sport and gaming (and most things in between!);
  • Community-centered forums where members can get to know each other better, and share things they've made;

  • A Discord server, where anyone can chat to our members in real time.

A very minor case of serious brain damage

Turquoise is a blue-green (as you might expect from the name) copper and aluminium phosphate mineral. Here's a piece of turquoise:

I don't particularly like the black patches: they make it look dirty. I love the colour of the rest of it, though!

I have some pieces of turquoise. :) I wouldn't mind having some green turquoise, though!

Apparently, the greener ones are more common, and less valuable.

I do have some somewhere, but it's very blue: much bluer than the one in the picture.

Image in the OP is broken, but I've added a new one.

Apparently, the name 'turquoise' comes from an Old French word for 'Turkish': it was originally mined in Turkey. It's kind of obvious, but I'd never made the connection before :P .
