Are we using my rules for this? (where you also have to specify the time in GMT, and it closes as soon as we hit 49,000 posts)

Ah, OK.

So, people are allowed to just wait until we've hit 49,999 posts, and then make the 50,000th post in this topic, and thus win by default (or, at least wait until we're very close, and then enter when it's obvious that we'll hit 50,000 on that day)? I won't do that (because it would ruin the contest for everyone else), but someone else might.

If you only want to do days and not times, though, then I'm happy to go along with that :) .

I say use KI's rules. Those should be the default.

That would be cheating

but I agree

It's not cheating unless we have a rule stopping it, though.

lol :P .

What if they wait until it's obvious that we'll hit 50,000 in the next day or two? That's why I use the 'No more entries when we're within 1,000 posts' rule.

That's a good rule

are you gonna guess or not?

I think it's safe to claim your use of the rule, KingsIndian. Everyone seems agreed to it. It should be a default. Maybe pin it?

Now that we're agreed on a rule, I'll guess 19th December, 1:43pm.

Well, we've hit 49,000 now, so this contest is closed.

We just need to wait and see who wins!

The 50,000th post has now been made, and the results are:

1st) Me (50 posts)
2nd) Monsterman (25 posts)
3rd) costumedanceparty (10 posts)
4th) Dakota (5 posts)
