A very minor case of serious brain damage

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80651

It's now official: Michael Schumacher is to return to Formula One with the Mercedes GP team in 2010, and is hoping to win an eighth Formula One World Championship.

Although I'm not a Schumacher fan, I am thrilled to see him returning, and it'll be very interesting to see how he performs against younger drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, as well as his older rivals, like Fernando Alonso. It's very difficult to know: he may be statistically the most successful Fomula One driver of all time, but is he now too old at 41? He's older and less reactive than he used to be, but by how much, and how much will his experience compensate for this? After three years out of Formula One, is he too out of practice, or has the testing and motorcycle racing that he has done since retiring from Formula One helped him to maintain his fitness? What about his neck injury; has that healed fully yet? (Schumacher says that it has)

I can't wait for the 2010 Formula One World Championship to begin.

Anything but 'Miserables'

What if he starts winning everything in sight again? Would you be thrilled to see him returning then :P ?

I doubt that'll happen. In those years, he also had the best car, the best team etc. However, it looks like there will be at least four teams that will be able to compete for the championship next year (Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull), so I expect that if Schumi is to win another championship, he'll have to fight for it!

For how long is he expected to be driving?

I don't know, but probably not very long. Most likely, it'd be just this year, but we'll have to wait and see.
