Febuary 9th 2011, 0500 hours Somewhere in the Himalaya Mountains, India Sgt. Glenn McKnight Stay still and they'll just go away I kept on repeating those words over and over in my head but the patrol still was in their same position for the last damn 20 minutes. Laying in the freezing snow up 10'000 feet in the air is not my idea of fun, neither for the rest of my squad. "How much longer Captain? My ass is starting to itc-" "Can you just shut up for one more damn minute Lambert?!?" Riley whispered harshly. "If you keep this up we're going get compromised, and I sure as hell don't plan on spending the rest of my life in some stupid cell." We waited for a another minute before the patrol finally passed. "Okay, lets move." We all got out of our prone positions in the snow and began to follow Riley down a path. "Where to now?" I ask, curious of we're going to get inside the base. "The HVT is about half a click north of us." "But how are we going to get in?" "We'll improvise Neal." Before we knew it, we where right next to the base, planning the next move. "Okay this is how its gonna go," Riley said. "We're gonna climb that ladder to get near the observatory, once we're all there we'll smash the glass and waste anybody inside." "Uh sir, what are the rules of engagement?" I ask, wondering if there night be anything besides military personal inside. "Expendable, does that answer your question McKnight?" "Yes sir" "Good, now lets get to work." We climbed the ladder one by one and prepared ourselves for the breaching, putting ourselves on the sides of the the windows. "On my signal. 1, 2, 3!" I rammed my M4's stock into the glass instantly smashing and began to open firing on the confuses and terrified soldiers and scientists. I can hear Riley yell, "Make sure none of them get away!" Lambert and me made quick work of them. "Now what?" "Now we go find our friend and give him a warm welcome." "Thanks for answering my question..." "Anytime Neal, anytime." We silently progressed down a hall, our guns ready for whatever might happen. We reached what looked like a bunch rooms for reserved for important individuals. "Don'y you find it a tad odd that the guys in the observatory were are the only people we've seen so far?" I ask, feeling a bit worried. "you're thinking to hard McKnight, oh there's his room." Riley replies quitely. "How the hell are we even tracking this guy?" "Well Lambert, he was in CIA custody but gave them a slip, but not before the put a tracker on him." Riley swiftly opened the door. "Okay pal you're coming wi-" Riley began to say, but there was nobody there. "I think we've been hoodwinked Captain." I say pointing to what looked like a small chip on a desk. There was an erie silence. "Well I guess were just gonna have to find him then." "For real captain? He could be anywhere in this base, hell I bet he isn't even here!" "I don't know about you Lambert but I plan on finding this guy, and you're gonna help!" I took what appeared to be some sort of schedule right of the desk. "6:30AM, SR34" I say to myself. "Thats it! Thats where he is!" "What?!?" "Look, 6:30 am, its 6:37 right now and has some kind of room number, I bet he's there Captain!" "You might be right McKnight, okay lets move." We worked our down hallway, after hallway, after hallway until me found the room number. "Do we even know how many gus are in there Captain?" "How about we go and find out? McKnight take down the door." Riley replies I smash my foot into the door knocking it of its hinges, an proceeded into the large control room with the others behind me."Nobody's here.." "Yeah, there is." I reply, pointing to a body laying on a table. "Careful, IED's maybe." I lift up the body's head. Riley takes out a picture. "Thats our guy, or at least that was our guy." "Why the hell would they kill their own man?" Neal questioned. "Beats me Neal." "Okay. now I really think something is up." "Whys that McKnight?" "think about those guys n the observatory we're there to make us think there were other people here. Don;t you see Captain? It's trap, and we walked right into it." "Hey, do any of you here that, beeping noise?" Lambert says. We all listened for any noise. "Yeah sound like its coming from from that computer. In front of the computer there was a labtop shaped object. Neal walked up to it an stopped stone cold. "Whats bitten you neal?" I ask. We walk over to where he is. "Is that a.. "bomb" we all say in unison. "Oh you got to be sh****g me!" Calm the hell down Neal!" "There's a frickin' bomb in front of me and you want me to calm down?" "How much time left McKnight." "8 minutes." I reply. "Thats enough time to get out of here if we had a ride!" Lambert yells angrily. "They probably rigged everything in the damn base, which will probably cause a damn avalanche!" "Still got your parachute Lambert?" Riley asks. "Yeah, why?" "Good, thats your ride out of here." We ran as fast as we could outside the base. "There's a cliff not to far from here we can use that!" Riley yells. Time fly's by and before we know it, we can here the explosion in the distance. "There! I can see the cliff form here, its at least only a hundered meters away!" I yell excitedly "Lets just hope the avalanche doesn't get us first!" Neal replies. I feel a shiver go up my spine. I can hear it now, beginning to close in on us just as we're reach the edge with Riley in front of us. "This is it!!" Riley yells, and It finally clicks into my head what we're going to do, jump. I really need to pay more attention. I begin to ready my parachute in mid run. "Wait, where do we go?!?" "Where else dumbass!" Riley yells, pushing Lambert of the cliff just as Lambert puts on his parachute. I can hear Lambert yell "CRAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!" as he's falling. Neal jumps with me close behind. "GO!GO!GO!" Riley yells as I leap of the edge of the cliff, with him following suit. We slowly begin to come together during the free fall. "Okay use them now!" I pay head to Riley words and pull the string releasing my parachute. "Man that was close." "Tell me about dude. I can hear the voice of our pilot on Riley's radio "Bravo-6 this is Vulture 2-9 waiting at the extraction point over." "Copy that Vulture 2-9, we'll be there in a short bit. "HQ won't be physced about the missions outcome," I say. "Look at at this way McKnight, at least you made it in one piece," Riley replies. "Heh, guess your right," I say as we continue our flight to the ground below, pleased that I did survive. This story was largely inspired by "WMD", a level in the video game "Call Of Duty: Black Ops" Feel free to make any spelling corrections. Edited by Sparr, May 13 2011, 07:22 PM.
