I think the biggest problem with books to films is disappointment...it's like you live in a dream world and then it's created and there's probably always going to be something different. I really liked the Babysitters Club movie they did...simply because it wasn't based on a book, it was just based on the series. It was an additional story that could have been a book if they'd written it first. The Exorcist? I didn't know that was book! But fair enough... What I really dislike is when they create a book based on a film, just to capitalise on the success. |

I love The Sisterhood OF The Traveling Pants. I actually watched the movie before I knew it was a series, but that prompted me to read the books. |

Knowing something is book to film definately colours my opinion. If I've read it, I'm always critical of what they've changed. If it's a book - film I haven't read, I always want to go and read the book. That's part the reason I don't want to watch Lord of the Rings - I tried reading it once and failed dismally.
