The UN, one of the most anti-liberty forces in the world. The U.N. climate change organization has said the world's poor countries will need $130 billion dollars a year by 2030 to help them adapt to global warming and curb their carbon emissions. The U.N. says rich countries need to increase their payments over the next 20 years to six times the funds available now, which is about $21 billion. So, Americans need to pay six times more than we already are, against our will, to help underdeveloped countries fight false demons. We should withdraw from the United Nations and NATO. Neither serve our best interests or the best interests of the world. All they serve to do is get us wrapped up in other nation's affairs and take our liberty and right to govern ourselves. |

i agree. if i were president not only would i cut any tax dollars that goto the un, i would refuse to acknowledge it and would not attend any meetings/gatherings/whatever i risk sounding like a conspiracy theorist, but i think the un is just the precursor to world government. The UN can go fuck themselves. All they do is sit on their asses and do nothing about anything. They should be uniting the world under a single banner, promoting and enforcing freedom and human rights and providing aid to disaster victims. But instead of acting like how they should, they just ask third world countries for money they don't have to meet first-world countries "Global Warming!" (with capitals!) standards. |

The UN should be abolished. The only relations we should have with other nations are free trade with as many nations as possible, border protection deals with Canada and Mexico, and intervention in cases of genocide. Other than that, leave countries to solve their own problems. |

its not just the UN, its all officials of all governments. If you make the government smaller and give it way less power, they wouldnt even THINK about attempting this kind of shit. If you really think about it, politicians are just people who are obsessed with the power of being elected. they think about it all day, how to get it. Do you really think these people have anyones best interest in mind? |

It's all because pragmatism has taken the place of principles. This mentality promotes that concept of ends justifying the means. So what if we have to kill, steal, rape, and lie? As long as it can accomplish our goals, it's worth it. It's disgusting. Our politicians (besides Ron Paul) have no principles whatsoever. They have no consistency. Take for example, the most popular man in my state, Russ Feingold. He is the biggest opponent of the Patriot Act in America. He has fought harder than anyone against it because it violates property rights. However, at the same time, he supports higher property tax, sales tax, universal health care, welfare, and many other programs which violate our property rights on a daily basis. That's because he doesn't believe in rights, what he believes in is accomplishing his own personal goals, not upholding universal standards such as rights. |
