So a few days ago I posted a thread in general about my favorite band, Toto. Well I just found out that a few months ago, they broke up. Steve Lukather, the only remaining original member since they started in 1977, left the band. "I can't go out and play 'Hold the Line' with a straight face anymore". Their last record, "Falling in Between" (which I bought the day it came out) was pretty much said to be their best album since "Toto IV" back in 1982. They made some jamming tunes and went out on a high note. Sucks that they won't release any more albums. Sucks bad. |

What he was getting at is that he's fifty now and he's been playing that tune since he was nineteen. He's probably so sick of it he can't hear it anymore without cringing. |

I think it's better this way. You don't want them releasing a bad album and ruining their fame (cough cough Metallica...cough). Kind of sucks that live performances will cease, but let's be honest. At a certain point some older bands (Not criticizing Toto - I don't really know that much aobut them) stop being good live, and when you go see them you're always wishing they could've have done a little better. |
