These 2 movie reviews are going to be short because I've never done movie reviews before. Quantum of Solace ![]() This movie starts off about 5 minutes after Casino Royale, which means that there will be some confusion if you haven't seen it (I recommend that you do, CR was amazing), but this is a bad thing because once you see CR, QoS looks lackluster by comparison. Let me get this straight right off the bat, this is a great bond movie, but it is no Casino Royale. It doesn't get any better because the opening car chase scene looks like it was filmed by a 9-year old on a sugar rush (Glares at the last Bourne movie). But once you get past the opening disappointment, there are some shining moments, unfortunately, there are way to many small things wrong with this movie, the villain is about as intimidating as a husband at a soccer game, the ending comes out of nowhere and leaves no closure, and the story's pacing is sometimes way too slow. However, the opening theme is as catchy as ever, the villain, however much of a pussy he may be, there are some times where he actually touches the villains of past bond movies, and the technology is awesome. See it if you plan to see the next bond movie or if you liked the last movie, but if you're planning to see only this movie and not bothering to see any of the others, allow me to hit you in the face. ![]() Role Models ![]() If you are a guru of comedy movies, if you like comedy movies, if you like laughing once every 5 years, if you are the CEO of a company that takes food away from starving Africans and then goes home to beat your wife, you will laugh at this movie. No other movie will desensitize you to it's funniness. The story starts off with 2 guys who sell energy drinks to kids, one guy loves his job while the other hates it, which leads to a situation that lands them either 30 days in jail or 150 of taking care of kids. This movie wouldn't be called Role Models if they chose jail so they chose the kids. One kid is the nerdy type, not the regular nerdy type that plays Virtua Fighter and argues about it on the internet, but the type that attends those Live Role-Playing games where you dress up like a knight and fight other people who can't spell "Girlfriend". And the other is the sassy kid with a colorful vocabulary, who seems to have no problem cussing. It sounds like it's trying to hard to be offensive, but Role Models pulls everything off in a way that tickles the funny bone like no other movie this year will. Being the comedy genius that I am, I laughed continuously throughout the entire movie, I honestly wasn't prepared for what Role Models had in store, I thought that I was going to see a decent movie that I would quote a couple of times and forget about by Christmas, but I ended up watching one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and wound up liking this movie better than Quantum Of Solace. ![]() Also, if you want to hear the QoS theme, click the link below, I actually liked it better than the Casino Royale theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-muXWuP8ZDo Edited by Deadlypixels, Thursday Nov 20 2008, 10:09 AM.
