http://www.scotsman.com/latestnews/World-first-as-woman-gets.4706821.jp A woman got a new organ grown for her with her OWN stem cells. It seems we're living in an amazing time for medical advances. An AIDS cure is within our grasp, we're making huge progress with Diabetes (some Leukemia drugs have cured type 1 in mice), and now we've got people benefiting from stem cell research without having to kill any babies. Imagine needing a heart transplant in 50 years. It is entirely possible that by that time they'll be able to grow you a brand new one from your own genetic material. No donor is required, and no human embryos have to be destroyed. Anyone who still supports embryonic stem cell research is a damn fool. Adult stem cell research is already producing cures, and it's not even getting 1/5 the funding that embryonic stem cell research is getting. |

to paraphrase Patton Oswalt: "Now all we need are Conservatives that can accept gays, and Hippies that shave and bathe. Maybe then we could move this country forward" |
