I'm pretty sure I know what at least two of you think of this, but what the hell, I'll make a thread anyway. What do you guys think of this new Auto industry bailout, which is expected to cost billions and billions of dollars and result in partial government ownership in these auto companies? The way I see it, no matter how much money you throw at the company, if the cars aren't selling, the company is still going to fail. |

It's idiotic. It lets American car companies know that they don't need to be as good as Japanese ones to stay afloat. Efficiency is not a priority. We don't need to worry about being profitable, because the government will fix everything. This is just yet another instance of the government punishing the better companies. Honda and Toyota employ thousands of Americans too. Where is their huge check? By keeping inferior businesses afloat artificially we're only providing worse products to the consumers, and doing it at THEIR expense. Basically, the government is taking money out of your pocket to make sure you have the option of buying inferior products. And of course, this bailout will surely mean more regulations on the auto industry. And since these regulations will be universal they're going to harm the successful companies and make it harder for the struggling ones to prosper. I vomit in my mouth when the government talks about "fair business practice" then hands out tax dollars to some companies favorably over others. Bailouts are not permanent solutions, and they only hurt the average consumer. Once again: government is not the solution to the problem. Government is the problem. |

That's what my dad was saying. He does garage doors for a living, and he keeps demanding a bailout. |

well, ill try and keep it really short because I can really ramble on this subject. 1. I strongly believe people need to stop paying taxes, for reasons like this. 2. It keeps bad business practice in the market, but its not like every company dosent get billions in tax payers dollars to begin with (proof the usa isnt capitalist) so maybe this is why american cars suck, and theres no point to compete because its not like youll get that kinda money for your business from the gov. 3. I vehemently believe the government/elite has wanted socialism for a long time. Maybe I sound like a conspiracy theorist here, but I dont think that the idea of world government is too far away from us. I think things are heavily planned out. The reason I think this is relevant, is because I think they want to crash the economy horribly and say we need to merge with another country to get it to work. in reality, thats no solution. but most people dont know anything about economics. Remember, the government is running off of and inflated currency and borrowed money. Pretty soon our entire pay check will goto the government because itll be so in debt. 4. they dont, nor will they ever care about fixing the economy. If they did, they wouldnt tax us so much. But instead, the government is the current source of American greed and lust for power. those are the core ideas I have when discussing this. Edited by Necrotrophic, Wednesday Nov 12 2008, 07:58 PM.

I dont say the idea of world government is fact, but I think its fairly obvious that its wanted. I mean elitist bankers who often sway politicians views flat out say they favor it. Not only do they practically own the government, they own the media too. I dont think 911 was an inside job or anything, but I definitely think theres a lust for power going on here. |

I say its wanted because guys like David Rockefeller admit they want it, and guys like david rockefeller own most of the media, own banks, and have been said that if they were president that would be a step down. Its also important to note, the Rockefeller family has been at the forefront of corruption throughout american history. anyway, the globalist thing is undeniable, as hes written books telling everyone that he supports it. a few kids even confronted him about it on youtube if you feel like looking it up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rockefeller theres always been a few families who dominated everything for a long time, and push to remove the free market. bankers have been known to be more interested in security than anything. I guess it goes with the business |

I don't think it's inevitable. I actually think it's impossible. If people think that Russians, Americans, Israelis, Chinese, North Koreans, South Koreans, and Iranians are all going to magically play nice they're retarded. A one nation world won't ever happen. There may be an attempt, but it will fail on a massive scale. The European Union doesn't even work right a lot of the time, and those countries are all very close together both geographically and politically. Americans in particular wouldn't like the idea that someone in New Zealand should have a say in how we live our lives. Also, fuck France. |

Looks like the bailout may be in dire straits at the moment, but don't worry, once Obama takes office and throws his support behind it, it'll pass. EDIT: In case you were wondering, there is a link hidden in my sentence somewhere... it's just that this site doesn't show them at all. Edited by Cube_of_MooN, Friday Nov 14 2008, 12:02 AM.
