The Electoral College

Some kid at my school suggested we go by Congresional District with the electoral college instead of by state. (One EV per CD) I wonder how that would change things.

It would be fail because the Republican Congress or the Democratic Congress can use gerrymandering to screw over the candidate from the other party.

Every system has its flaws, but if the US is going to keep the Electoral College it should stop throwing the word democracy around like it's a newly learned word and recognize it's a Republic in almost every sense of the word.

No gubmint is a pure democracy. Such a concept can't exist without turmoil.

We are most certainly a republic. A republic with democratic ideologies.
