Wow, with the score 41-7 with about 2 minutes left in the game, I think it is safe to say the Pats won this one. Damn the Broncos played poorly. I never expected this result from the game... But I am as glad as hell we beat the fuckin' Bronos. They have always given us trouble. But tonight, we win. YES! GO PATRIOTS! Edited by Cube_of_MooN, Monday Oct 20 2008, 09:37 PM.

Jay Cutler is terrible. I don't care what anyone says. He always plays terrible in the second half, despite his Montana-esque numbers from the first half of games. Also, our defense sucks balls. Like, major balls. Sign John Lynch and Jake Plummer. |

Bring back Jake Plummer? That is an interesting proposal. And if Bailey is out for a while, you guys are mega-screwed on defense. |

Definitely. Bailey and Bly are the only ones who can play. Engelberger is our best defensive lineman, and he didn't even play. And yeah, bring back Plummer. He took us to the playoffs three times. We were in a playoff spot when they benched Plummer in favor of Cutler a few years back, and Cutler led us straight into the ground. Plummer's biggest crime was not being Elway. But Elway is the greatest quarterback in history. There will never be another Elway. I'd rather lose in the AFC Championship, like we did with Plummer, than miss the playoffs altogether, like we have been with Cutler. |

I don't know... Plummer didn't play too well near the end. Cutler plays well at times, but tonight he looked terrible, even though his hand did get banged a little. New England's defense is pretty average, too. What you guys need most is defensive help more than a new QB. And Elway the greatest QB ever? Phhhft. No. That is Tom Brady. And God does it feel weird not having Brady at the helm of the offense... Edited by Cube_of_MooN, Monday Oct 20 2008, 10:00 PM.

Tom Brady has been surrounded by hall of famers his entire career. Don't get me wrong; Brady is a first ballot hall of famer. One of the best ever. But just like Montana, he's surrounded by ridiculous talent. Brady has had Bruschi, Harrison, Seymour, Moss, Stallworth, Law, Samuel... The list goes on. John Elway hadn't played with anyone before our first Super Bowl victory. He carried us to three Super Bowls by himself before we got Davis, Smith, and Sharpe. Two words: The Drive. Elway did it by himself for 14 years before he got some help. |

Oh, and back to Plummer v. Cutler. When they benched Plummer, our team was in first place. We finished the season 7-9 and haven't had a winning season since. The year before Cutler came, Plummer led us to an AFC Championship (and bitch slapped your Patriots in the divisional round, giving Brady his first ever playoff loss). |

Stallworth? that guy did nothing for us last year. By the end of the year he was our #4 receiver.

The Patriots have always, always had trouble against the Broncos, that game included... which made this game so sweet to watch... especially with MATT CASSELL of all people at the helm. Isn't Plummer retired now anyway? |

Yes, Plummer is retired. But he's still active. He's actually a world-class hand ball player these days. Plummer had intangibles. Only Elway and Favre had more comeback victories than Jake the Snake. |

Montana wasnt surrounded by talent when in kc. also, montana wasnt even a valued qb when he was drafted. he was seen as too short and im pretty sure he was seen as having a weak arm. the cowboys skipped over him in the draft, which at the time they NEVER did that. he also had to compete with steve deberg, the qb at the time. to say that its just bill walsh making montana good would be kind of silly. Elway is a great QB. No doubt. as a 49er fan, I give a shitload of respect to elway (which says a lot, because I see my two favorite QBs as the best of all time). But it seems like you're trying to imply that Elway is better than Montana somehow (i guess by saying he did it by himself), which just isnt true. You might not be saying that at all, but im just saying how I read it. |

heres a list of better QB's than Tom Brady: Joe Montana Steve Young Brett Favre John Elway Payton Manning Matt Hasselbeck (yes, im serious) Jeff Garcia Dan Marino thats just off the top of my head. i know most people wouldnt say hasselbeck and garcia are better, but both these guys are screwed by circumstance. garcia would have won a superbowl (at least one) if the 49ers didnt switch ownership and then fired everyone. Some say hasselbeck won one. I dont know the issue over in Seattle that much though, i know holmgren dosent get the final say with a lot of things anymore. all brady is good at, is slinging it. Actually, hes somewhat like Marino. Marino in my opinion wasnt that great of a QB because he had a lot of problems (especially with the short pass) the fact that terrible teams like the eagles and the ravens were able to shut him down just goes to show how weak the patriots really are. qbs that are only good at throwing the long ball arent good qbs. being able to throw the ball farther than the next guy dosent make you better or equal to the next guy. Short horizontal passes spreads the defense out, which is why guys like Marino never won a superbowl. Edited by Necrotrophic, Tuesday Oct 21 2008, 11:17 AM.

Refuting all the wrongness of what you said would take far too long. Besides, I just got home with Fable 2. Oh, and I don't really think Brady is the best ever. I was kinda joking about that. But I do think he is top 5. Edited by Cube_of_MooN, Tuesday Oct 21 2008, 02:56 PM.

Montana wasn't that good in Kansas City, so his not having talent there is irrelevant. But he had guys like Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lot, Fred Dean, Guy McIntyre, and the greatest coach of our generation (Bill Walsh). Elway had nobody. There are two Broncos in the Hall of Fame: Elway and Zimmerman (who played most of his career elsewhere). Elway made his receivers. His two best ever were Rod Smith and Ed McAffrey. Smith was an undrafted free agent and Ed had been cut from three teams before he came to Denver. Elway turned them both into All Pros. Montana has the championships, but Elway has him beat in both wins and come from behind wins. Elway did it all by himself. 1. Elway 2. Montana 3. Unitas 4. Favre 5. Terry Bradshaw Elway has more touchdowns, wins, yards, completions, and comebacks. Give Elway Jerry Rice and see what his number would've been. Also, Montana wouldn't have been shit without his offensive line. John Elway was fast, and he got sacked 516 times in his career (far more times than anyone else). Put Montana on the Broncos from those pre-Championship years and he barely makes the playoffs. Put Elway on those Montana Championship teams and they're still championship teams. And you're high if you think that Garcia or Hasselbeck are better quarterbacks than Brady. Edited by famicommander, Tuesday Oct 21 2008, 03:42 PM.
