Illegal aliens account for:

· 33.5% of those sentenced for manufacture, sale or transport of drugs.
· 35.8% of those sentenced for kidnapping.
· 20.3% of those sentenced for felony DUI.
· 16.5% of those sentenced for violent crimes.
· 18.5% of those sentenced for property crimes.
· 44% of those sentenced for forgery and fraud.
· 85.3% of those convicted of criminal impersonation or false ID.
· 96% of those convicted of human smuggling.

Solution:
1. Legalize drugs. That will severely decrease the financial incentive for a lot of them to come here.

2. Make it easier for people with legitimately good intentions to come into this country legally.

3. Make it harder for illegal immigrants to get in.

4. Grant full citizenship to any immigrant who serves a full term in the United States military.

5. Cut taxes on business owners. That way, they'll be less likely to take the risk of hiring illegal immigrants in the first place. They'll be able to afford legal citizens, and the demand for illegal laborers will decrease.

6. Eliminate the minimum wage. The minimum wage is an illusion. By forcing business owners to have a minimum wage, you're removing some of their legal options. This encourages them to seek labor from illegals and people in foreign countries (outsourcing). When they're actually forced to pay a minimum wage which is 1) more than they can afford or 2) more than the worker is actually earning, they're going to raise the prices of their products in order to make the same profits. This ulimately results in people working minimum wage being forced to pay more for the same products. Working wages should be negociated on a case-by-case basis. If a business doesn't pay enough, no one will want to work there. If a worker wants too much money, they won't get a job. By removing the minimum wage and taxes, business owners will be able to offer their goods at lower prices and the requirements for living will also be lower. They'll be able to pay legal citizens a decent wage, and other citizens will be able to afford their products.

That solves the illegal immigration problem, increases the power of our military, eliminates intrusive prohibition laws, cuts back on crime, and patches a huge hole in our economy. But it makes sense, so no politicians will care.

If only it were that easy. I'd wager every one of these points have been brought up before in Washington. Truth be told, each of these measures probably would reduce illegal immigrants, but it would also come with a whole new set of consequences that might outweigh the illegal immigrant problem.

That's adorable, immigration can't be solved that easy, there never is a perfect solution.

Well that leaves room for argument. It would be impossible to define "legitimately good intentions" because the value of goodness differs from person to person and government to government. Plus how can you expect them to follow through on their promises?

And according to border control and the INS, it's already difficult for illegal immigrants to get in. What do you mean by "make it harder"?

1. Background checks, language comprehension, and employment history are the easiest way to separate the "good intentions" from the bad. The Mexican government keeps records, just like we do. They have police, just like we do. Let the ones who haven't been arrested, can speak basic English, and have been employed in. Keep the rest out.

2. Build a wall to keep the rest out. It won't completely fix the problem, but coupled with the rest of the solutions it will have a significant enough impact to warrant it.

I know many of them have been brought up, by intelligent people in Congress like Ron Paul and the late Barry Goldwater. The reason they haven't been implemented, as I said earlier, is because they make sense. The government is inherently opposed to thinks that make sense.

And tell me a single "consequence" of any of those solutions. I'd be dying to know.

Americans will, because they'd be easier to higher and it'd be much cheaper if the other qualifications were met. You could build 20 walls with American labor for the amount we spend on drug prohibition.

Just because a comedian says something doesn't mean it isn't true, or at least has some merit to it.

1. That's a little too extreme for my liking. Who's to say that if they can't speak English that they don't have "good intentions"? That's a correlation that you just can't make. I just did a paper on felons the other day too. What if their government was corrupt, or the arrest was otherwise unfair, or that it was petty and made several years ago? Why should they be tied down to their stained record if the U.S. is essentially meant to be a fresh start? It's completely defeats the purpose of coming to the U.S. in the first place.

2. You mean like a physical wall?

Learning English should be an absolute minimum. People who don't speak English are a drain on the workforce. I wouldn't move to China and expect to function without learning Chinese. I wouldn't move to Germany without knowing enough German to function. The same should be true of people moving here.

I'm not implying that people should be fluent in English before moving here. I just think, except in the case of refugees, that they should speak enough of the de facto language of our country to function.

I'm talking specifically about the Mexican government. If you've spent any significant amount of time in a Mexican prison, you aren't going to contribute to American society.

That's not true, one time I went to Mexico to play some b-ball outside of my school when a couple of guys, who were up to no good, startin' makin' trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Only a conservative would want to get rid of minimum wage. Only corrupt businesses, all capitalist, would try to break this rule. You can't stop illegal immigration and really there is little else that can be done that won't breach human rights or waste potential government funds that could be spent on more important areas of life, including the immigrants, legal or not.

The minimum wage is in place to ensure that every employer pays proportionally to the economy. Without minimum wage, employers might not pay proportionally to the economy and the average price of living.

If they didn't, no one would work for them and they'd go out of business. Wages should be negociated between the worker and the employer. If an employer won't pay enough, they won't get any workers. If the worker wants too much, he won't have a job. That's the ultimate form of supply and demand.

Without a minimum wage, America would lose so many of our "menail" jobs since menial jobs pay minimum wage. Without any sort of minimum wage, what do you think janitors at Wal-Mart would get paid?
