Never. Man, I've been staring at that gif for the past ten minutes. It's mesmerizing.

God we were spoiled football fans growing up, weren't we? Watching TD, Sharpe, Elway, Smith, McCaffrey, Atwater, Zimmerman, etc do what they do on a weekly basis was (and still is) near-impossible to top.

Patriots pretty easily beat the Titans. Love what I saw from Stevan Ridley, guy rushed for 125 yards and a TD, averaging around 6 yards a carry. Defense looked good but not great, the pass defense still scares me but the Titan's rushing game was totally smothered. Chris Johnson rushed 11 times for four yards, lol.

Meant to watch the Bronco's game but something came up. Part of me is glad, and part of me is terrified that Manning is playing so well against good defense.

That was the most fun I've had watching a football game since I can remember. Manning is a maestro on the field.

Anyone want to take a shot at ranking the NFL's quarterbacks? I got in an argument with a buddy the other day and this is what I have

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Drew Brees
3. Peyton Manning
4. Eli Manning
5. Tom Brady
6. Ben Roethlisberger
7. Matt Stafford
8. Matt Ryan
9. Matt Schaub
10. Phillip Rivers
11. Tony Romo
12. Joe Flacco
13. Jay Cutler
14. Alex Smith
15. Cam Newton
16. Andy Dalton
17. Ryan Fitzpatrick
18. Carson Palmer
19. Michael Vick
20. Josh Freeman
21. Matt Cassell
22. Christian Ponder
23. Sam Bradford
24. Mark Sanchez
25. John Skelton and/or Kevin Kolb
26. Blaine Gabbert

Not ranked due to being rookies or effective rookies:
Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Weeden, Russell Wilson, Jake Locker

The argument started when this idiot tried to tell me that Rivers was a top fiver.

Not a bad list, I'd probably have Brady at #3 but otherwise I don't have any major disagreements at this point in the season and even that is pretty small since all of those guys up there are great. I do have a feeling that Gabbert will make progress this year and will no longer be the unanimous choice for worst QB in the league, that will clearly be Brandon Weeden. Cleveland would be better off with Colt McCoy.

I'd have more respect for Rivers if the Chargers actually put together a few solid seasons, which maybe isn't fair, but most of the time they are just an average team with Rivers unable to prop them up further. He was also pretty bad last year.

Yeah, #s1-5 could really be in any order

and I have Roethlisberger locked in at 6, being the baseline for "elite" quarterbacks

next tier is Stafford-Ryan-Schaub ("great" quarterbacks)
Then Rivers-Flacco-Cutler ("good" and/or inconsistently great quarterbacks)
then Smith-Newton-Dalton ("decent/improving")
then Palmer-Fitz-Vick (average)
then Freeman-Cassell-Ponder (below average)
then Bradford-Sanchez (bad)
and everyone else (garbage)

I've always felt Romo is underrated, he always puts up good stats but ends up getting screwed over more by Jerry Jones' idiocy than anything else. Ryan is definitely good but he hasn't done anything to really amaze me yet. Can't really bring up specific examples, just a feeling really. If Ryan keeps playing on the level he did last week then he'll surpass Romo for sure, but Romo was pretty good last week too.

Romo is a certified choke artist. He looks like Joe Montana September-November but in December and January (read: when the games actually count) he folds up like a tent without exception.

He just doesn't have that "winner" gene. There are many quarterbacks less talented than he that DID have the winner gene. Jake Plummer, Jeff Garcia, Doug Flutie, etc. Those guys just didn't quite have the talent.

It's when the guys have the talent and the winner gene that you see asscream like Eli Manning did last year. I could not imagine Tony Romo or Phillip Rivers just taking an entire playoff game over and willing their teams to victory like Manning did last season, or like Brady and Brees and Rodgers have done countless times before.

I also think Andy Dalton has the potential to be a great quarterback, but he has to get the fuck away from the Bengals ASAP.

Can't believe they led Cedric Benson go, and can't believe how terrible their o-line is. That is NOT how you respond to a rookie quarterback having a great first season. The Bengals should be doing everything they can to make it easier on Dalton but they've absolutely regressed at every offensive position except QB and TE (Green is awesome but you need more than one WR). It's like they saw he had a good year and decided their work was done or something.

I'm a bit concerned we're seeing a bit of the Matt Cassell effect wit Dalton. Cassell played great in 2008 filling in for Brady and got a nice contract as a result in KC. Problem is, the Patriots had one of the easiest schedukes in the league that year, and Belichick is a good enough coach to make just about anything work. Since moving to KC, he's had one good year (with an easy schedule) and two bad ones.

The Bengals had an easy schedule last year, and Dalton looked good. Now that the schedule has toughened up, I don't think he'll be as good. A large part of it is the asscreamhole that is the Bengals' organization, but I see some parallels here between him and Cassell, that he'll only have good seasons when the competition is weak. He's still young so who knows though.

The difference there is that Dalton is known for his leadership and ability to handle pressure, very much unlike Cassell. On the Patriots Cassell didn't need to be a leader but on the Chiefs he clearly does, and that's one of the reasons they suck.

You don't throw for 3500 yards and 20 TDs in your rookie season by accident, no matter what the schedule looked like.

I just agreed to come into work three hours earlier on Monday (after probably getting off at ~1 AM after inventory) in order to avoid missing the Broncos v Falcons.

Feel kinda bad for the guy during that one, nobody was open and his o-line did virtually nothing to stop the rush. Two of the picks were his fault for sure though.
