1. Holy asscream it's almost Peyton Manning time
2. Broncos linebacker Elvis Dumervil will not be charged for his road rage incident last month:

So that's good news.

Broncos open up the preseason Thursday night in Chicago. Hopefully Jay Cutler is injured on the first play.

Looks like the Broncos also signed Linebacker Keith Brooking, formerly a two time All Pro and five time Pro Bowler. He spent the last few seasons with Dallas.

If he still has anything left in the tank I think it's a great signing. We definitely needed depth at the position with DJ Williams being a moron and all.

Saw some of the Patriot's preseason game, and really liked what I saw out of rookie DE Chandler Jones. He was in Drew Brees' (and his backup) face a few times and drew two holding calls. Not likeing what I saw out of Nate Solder (LT), he was beaten multiple times (one of which led to a Brady fumble) had two holding penalties. Not going to get the job done, not at all.

Broncos whooped the Bears 31-3 and Peyton was the only QB to not produce a scoring drive, though he was only given one opportunity to do so. Osweiler (4-of-7 for 38 yards, 1 TD, 111.9 PR), Wolfe (2 sacks) and Omon (7 attempts for 36 yards, 1 TD) were all standouts. None of it amounts to much of anything, of course, but it was fun to watch.

One of the Patriot's like third team linebackers knocked Mike Vick out of the preseason game today and possibly broke his ribs. I never root for injuries, but I never feel bad when he gets hurt, the scumbag.

If anything kills the Broncos this season it'll be their "depth."

And if anything kills the NFL as a whole it'll be these goddamn replacement refs. Here I thought hockey officiating was bad... Jesus Christ.

Hockey has by far the best officiating of any of the four major sports and it isn't even remotely arguable.
1. NHL
2. NFL
3. MLB
4. youth rec leagues
5. NBA

Really surprised to see Russell Wilson starting for the Seahawks week 1. I thought Matt Flynn had it in the bag with the money they gave him, but Wilson's put some great numbers up. Only real knock against him is that he's short, but so was Doug Flutie, so whatevs. Hope he does well, seems like a good enough guy from an interview I heard on the radio.

I don't think I've ever seen a single worse-officiated sports game than when O'Reilly got clubbed in the face by that piece of asscream Giordano in the crease and quite literally started spraying blood all over the ice. I don't watch baseball, but I can say without a doubt that last season's officiating was nearly on par with the NBA's. In the 15 years that I've been watching hockey I've NEVER seen so many blown calls, and I'm not just talking about the Avs.

I watch almost every game in every league in which Colorado has a team, and sorry, but there is no arguing this point. NHL refs may be bad but hockey fans have no right to complain to other league's fans. There are missed calls in every game, ever, but in my years watching sports I have found hockey games are far less likely to be decided by poor officiating. It literally happens on a daily basis in the NBA and MLB.

The NBA plays favorites FAR more than any sports league, can't argue that. Whereas NHL games are regularly dictated by stupidity, NBA games are dictated by player bias. The latter is definitely worse, but it's close.

Atwater is just vicious and Eddy Mac is the greatest man who ever lived. How often does a wide receiver make a hit like that?
