That's actually pretty shitty. Metro 2033 has characters and models well above 41k polygons fully rendered if this is the best they're pushing no way am I investing in consoles next generation. I'm not paying for outdated hardware anymore. Plus we've had 1+ million polygon characters for a while, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m7T5ay_8DI&feature=youtu.be#t=4m35s over 2 million polygons in real time back in 2004 rather than sculpting. OH WELL. |

So were going into the future where 1 million polys for "real time" is the new thing when it was done years before...I just don't see how this is somehow a good thing. |

I don't know, after a certain point it seems like graphics can't really get much better beyond say virtual reality. Yeah maybe some small details might look slightly better but who the hell notices that while playing? |

I don't give a fuck what Naughty Dog is doing as long as it isn't Uncharted. That series is played out. Do something with gameplay now. I'm sick of watching my video games, dammit. |

Okay, so you've got more polygons on screen at once. Big fucking deal. Graphical photorealism is overdone in a post-Crysis market. If they want to talk about technical achievements, show me some better AI and/or physics, maybe even sound (yeah right, like that's gonna get any better after PC game sound regressed over the past decade). Maybe then I'll be impressed. |
