Why would I? I've never even been to British Columbia (the closest I've come is the mountains in Banff) and couldn't care less about the Canucks as a team. After Luongo called Thomas out, I was almost against them winning. I'm glad he got his arrogant ass handed to him.

All the people I know, and friends of friends are saying "its so shameful" and whatnot. I just respond "is this the first time a riot had occurred after a major sports event?" They don't say anything after that.

Also, wasn't there a riot the last time Montreal WON the cup? Its just an excuse for dumbasses to be dumbasses.

I can almost understand the riot. If the Avs lost in a game 7 for the Cup 4-0, I'd be pretty pissed too. It's just funny that it happened in Canada.

Here's some good news for the Bruins- only four of their current players will be free agents after the season is over. Kaberle, Ryder, and Hnidy (barely ever played) are UFA's, and even if all three left, it would hardly make much of a difference on the team. Kaberle was a big disappointment and Ryder was just an average winger. Brad Marchand is a RFA, so he'll almost certainly be back, if at a higher salary, which he deserves. So basically, almost the entire team will be back next year, so this team won't suffer the same fate as Chicago did a year earlier, where the team had to be blown up to meet the cap. The one loss that will make at least some difference is the retiring Mark Recchi, as he was a veteran leader on the team. Even at 43 he still had a lot to give the team.

After the Stanley Cup was over, I noticed how little coverage ESPN actually gives hockey. The whole game 7 thing was given a short segment, like am minute or two, and that's it. The US Open and College World Series are given equal if not Intense anal traumaer coverage, and the NBA finals were covered so closely it was ridiculous, hell half a sportscenter was dedicated to a single game. That's a shame, since the NHL deserves more than that.
