Oh and Super:

PLAY SIN AND PUNISHMENT.

It's imo the best rail shooter I've ever played and is definitely top tier as far as Wii games in general go imo.

Moar from IGN:
-Manufacturing costs suggest a price of 350-400 if they were to launch this October/November. They say Nintendo could wait until those costs are reduced before launching, but we don't know at this point.

-CPU is indeed a triple core PPC, but reportedly faster than the 3.2 ghz clock speed of the one in the Xbox 360. The processor would presumably be hyper threaded, which would allow for six processing threads at a time.

-GPU is an enhanced Radeon R700 family chip. Confirmed to be faster than the 7800GTX series chip in the PS3. The R700 family describes anything from a Radeon HD 4350 to Radeon HD 4890.

-System can output native 1080p content as well as stereoscopic 3D, but it is unknown what kind of emphasis (if any) will be placed on 3D

-One name being thrown around for the system is "Stream", though that is apparently one of many that Nintendo executives are considering.

Also, according to what I can turn up, the Xbox 360's GPU is very similar to a Radeon X1950 from the R500 series.

The Wii successor using an R700 would lend credibility to reports of the system being much more powerful than Xbox, but similar enough from an architecture standpoint to allow very easy porting of games between the two systems.

my roommate and I just got done talking about what the screen on the controller could be used for and we decided that one of the coolest things you could do with it could be a scope. Like you hold the controller parallel to the tv and push a button and goes in scope mode and you move the controller up down left or right to aim it up then fire.

A Silent Scope console port that would preserve the arcade cabinet's most distinguishing feature? That would be interesting, but look downright weird with a gamepad equipped with a screen...

In other news, I've been thinking about how reminiscent this is of the GCN/GBA connectivity, and how these extra screens could be used during multiplayer. The sort of games where people need to collaborate, yet compete...or just need some information hidden on their own personal screen, ready to use on another unsuspecting player at the best/worst possible moment. Plenty of munchkinly dickery potential could be had with the right games...

Just realized that if this console is backwards compatible with Wii and Gamecube games, it will likely scale them to 1080p

Yes please.

I've always found the N64 controller to be pretty awkward.

The N64 controller is comfortable in my opinion, and I like that it is built in a way that both the d-pad and analog stick both have good access. Plus I like large controllers in general (except the Xbox Duke, but that has more to do with button layout than size).

n64 controller was okayish.

i hated how it has the three peg things, and that definitely makes it feel uncomfortable in a claustrophobic way.

I dont like the snes controller either

gamecube was the best one i used by them

So I was watching invisible walls and they were talking about Wii successor rumors and they brought up an interesting point which is that it could end up like the dreamcast in that it came out before the other systems. It was significantly more powerful than the other options available at the time but when it was time for their competition to step up, they brought it hard and the Dreamcast kinda got left in the dust. Like a bridge console between generations. Not saying it'll happen but it is an interesting thing to think about.
