we (the community that is competitive) need to be playing the same game.

Honestly, I dont care what people do who arent actually good at sf. The less mashers that play the game the better (not implying you are one, im just making a point)
Well I'm usually not so crass. (Though I usually am so blunt)

But that sir is a shitty, elitist prick attitude if I've ever heard one. Attitudes like that are what is slowly going to destroy gaming for me. Rather then just have fun with the game you have to show everyone else how much MORE you play it as if it were of some galactic importance. In the grand scheme of things it will mean little. I mean being good at the game is fine, good for you. But you brush off those who aren't up to your level. Why not show them how to be as good as you? More great people to fight right? I'm no tournament player, but I like to say "I'm good for an average guy." And when I beat someone who isn't as good as me, I'll usually tell them how I did it. (If I know) So they can not make whatever mistake in the future. THAT is community my friend. [/rant]

I still wish they'd add Karin Kanzuki to the roster...I'd buy her.

I honestly didn't read anything elitist in that post Super. What I got from it is that the community and the people involved in the competitive fighting scene are not going to get better and grow as players by fighting tons of lower level players all the time. It would become a grind if they did. You get better by playing people on your level or better. Not the other way around.

I do that, if people are interested in learning I help them. In fact im one of the few SRKers who actually take people under their wing. Ive actually mentored a few chun players.

However, theres far too many people who thinking constantly throwing is cheap, that SF is about hitting as many combos as possible, and that jumping is a good idea and anyone who says otherwise be damned, they are "cheap".

I dont want to play those types. I havent been playing SSF4 much lately because 90% of the online community right now are extremely shitty players like that, to the point where I stopped playing Chun and play Ryu. Its getting to the point where my shitty Ryu is too good and im playing Juri and Ken.

I actually miss the days where there were tons of lobbies of good players who know about spacing and footsies.

edit: Whooz is correct.
