Bit of a late start on this one, but yeah. The Rockies are currently sitting on the top of their division at 4-1. Todd Helton looks to be healthier in the early goings this year than last, and if this team stays healthy they're going to be a factor in September. |

The Red Sox are 0-6, which is quite frankly fucking hilarious. |

Rockies won both games of a double header against the Mets today, completing a four game sweep. The Rockies are currently 10-2, with both losses coming by one run in extra innings. And we're still missing two of our five starting pitchers (Ubaldo Jimenez, Aaron Cook). |

11-2. And mold, regardless of the implications for later in the season, I don't think there's a team out there that wouldn't want to be where the Rockies are right now. And again, we're still missing our ace (who comes back Tuesday) and our number five starter. Also, great to see Todd Helton kicking ass early on. |

13-2 for the Rockies. Helton hitting .342, Tulo is ridiculous, Gonzalez had four hits today, Ubaldo returns on Tuesday. All is well in Denver. |

Red Sox are crawling their way back to .500, 7-11 now. Beckett has been, surprisingly, absolutely dominant so far, but with him, you are just waiting around until he tweaks his back again. Jed Lowrie is on fire, and Carl Crawford pretty much sucks balls. |

Do you think the Rockies will be able to maintain this momentum throughout the rest of the season and wind up with a playoff berth? Considering the Rockies have that record largely without the help of Jimenez and despite a (relatively) quiet start from Carlos Gonzalez it seems possible, but the Rockies seem prone to streaky play, and it's hard to tell if this is just an unsustainable fast start out of the gates or not. |

I think we're going to get a playoff berth. And yeah, Ubaldo and CarGo aren't themselves at the moment, but we keep winning anyway. We're also missing Aaron Cook (our all-time wins leader and former All-Star) due to a broken finger. Todd Helton is looking amazing so far, so that's nothing but good news. Fowler is really making strides at the plate, Tulowitzki is ridiculous, and Seth Smith and Johnny Herrera are playing great. We need more production at third base, but you have to think that between Ty Wiggington and Jose Lopez one of them will start to put up some consistent numbers. Or maybe Ian Stewart will figure it out (he missed all of spring training and is hitting like .087 this year; just got sent back to the minors). Catcher is probably our biggest weakness right now. Letting Miguel Olivo go was a bad move. But yeah, look out for this team when Jimenez and Gonzalez get rolling. |

Back to back dominant starts from Lester and Dice-K (shock!) have us at 9-11. We're getting back to where we should be. |

The Rockies won again, still have the best record in MLB at 16-7. Helton hit two homers today. So glad to see his back is holding up early in the season. |

Red Sox struggled a bit last week, but now that they are facing their new favorite team to beat up on, the Angels, things are going better. Lester remains dominant, Lackey and Buccholz are turning it around, and Crawford is finally hitting. Gonzalez has also come up with some clutch hits lately, even if the power has been lacking, but coming off shoulder surgery I didn't expect the power right away. We faced three of the best pitchers in the game on consecutive nights in King Felix, Weaver, and Haren, and beat all three. now we just need to learn to do the same against the nobodies that make us look silly at the plate. :/ |

Fransisco Liriano threw a no-hitter, but with 6BB and only 2K's, it seems rather fluky. 66 strikes out of 123 pitches is also a pretty terrible ratio. |
