I have a question.

Does playing through a season in season mode of NBA 2K mean actually playing through all 82 games + postseason?
Yes. All games are available to play. You can of course sim a game or whatever, but I prefer to actually play the game.

Don't expect it to be a pick up and play type game. There's a heavy emphasis on the mechanics (Isomotion) and smart play calling. Get it if you're willing to put some time into it.

In case you guys didn't know, it's finally official.

The Knicks acquire Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, among others.

In exchange, New York gave up essentially their entire starting lineup minus Stoudemire, a first-round draft pick, two second-round picks, and cash. Needless to say, New York pretty much banked everything on Carmelo. It's a heavy price to pay, but worth it. Melo + Stoudemire + Billups pretty much puts them on par with the best in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks might even be championship-bound.

And not to mention, Chris Paul said he would be interested to play for New York if Stoudemire and Carmelo were there. And Denver isn't exactly poorly off either. So win-win?

Right? Here is New York's projected starting lineup:

F Amar'e Stoudemire
F Carmelo Anthony
C Ronny Turiaf
G Chancey Billups
G Landry Fields

Two star forwards, a solid guard, a rookie guard who leads the Knicks in rebounds this season.... and Ronny Turiaf. Melo has an excellent outside game and Stoudemire has great drives. I think there's good chemistry in this lineup.

Finally New York is a basketball city again.

Turiaf is a huge liability. You guys had better hope you don't have to play Orlando, because nobody on your team can cover Howard.
Denver Broncos: defending champs, 8-6, next game 12/25 @ Kansas City Chiefs
Colorado Rockies: 75-87, missed playoffs
Colorado Avalanche: 11-18-1, next game 12/20 @ Minnesota Wild
Denver Nuggets: 12-16, next game 12/20 @ Los Angeles Clippers
Colorado Mammoth: first game 12/30 @ Buffalo Bandits
Denver Outlaws: defending champs, first game 4/22 @ Charlotte Hounds
Colorado State Rams football: 7-5, next game Idaho Bowl 12/22 vs Idaho Vandals
Colorado State Rams basketball: 8-4, next game 12/22 vs Long Beach State 49ers
Winnipeg Blue Bombers: 11-7, lost West Division Semifinal
Denver Pioneers Lacrosse: first game 1/24 vs Johns Hopkins Blue Jays

Turiaf is not a liability. It's just that he's no starter and we desperately need a center. Not only does Stoudemire lack support down low but he needs someone who can at least be physical since he's so injury prone (think Oakley to Ewing). At least Billups came with a backup, but I'm sure everyone knows we're going to try to get rid of him for someone better. It's on its way to becoming a team that can win something, but the lineup still needs to be worked on. Unless something happens by tomorrow we're waiting until at least next year to see something happen.

I'm pretty sure New York would want to find a new center sooner than replacing Billups. He's not a poor guard by any means.

And we have no other choice but to stick with Turiaf for now because he is literally the only center on the roster, unless you want to make Stoudemire a center, but then you gotta resort everything and end up with a shitty forward.

Looks like the Knicks still aren't done. They're looking to trade off Corey Brewer for a competent center and a lot of teams are interested, including Boston.

And New York will have enough cap space next summer to sign another big name like Chris Paul to give New York it's own "big three".

Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony would mesh well together, I think.

Carmelo and Billups made their debut today against the Bucks, and holy shit.

Knicks won 114-108.

Melo - 27 points (3rd highest as a Knick debut)
Stoudemire - 19 points
Billups - 21 points and 12/12 on free throws

Also noteworthy was Toney Douglas. He's a bench player but he made 23 points.

Looks good.

"We gave up a surefire Hall of Famer, who is only 26, for four New York Knicks starters. This is like acquiring the four best mountain climbers in Nebraska. Among Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov (who, I believe, doesn't even exist), not one is in the top 35 in scoring or rebounding."

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=6150136

Rick Reilly makes a pretty good point. All of these superstars ending up in the big markets:
Wade, Bosh, and LeBron to Miami
Garnett, Pierce, and Allen to Boston
Gasol, Kobe, Odom, and Artest to Los Angeles
Stoudemire, Carmelo, and probably Chris Paul to New York

Any doubt that Dwight Howard will be bailing out of Orlando ASAP? Deron Williams whined Jerry Sloan into retirement, then got traded from Utah to the Nets (who are moving to Brooklyn). If Chris Paul leaves, the Hornets might not even exist anymore. David Stern said publicly that some owners are in favor of contracting the team, and the owner of the NHL's Canucks has interest in moving a team back to Vancouver. Plus the Kings are considering a move to Anaheim (which would basically mean three teams in LA).

The NBA is headed down a pretty sad path.

Watching Celtics/Nuggets

Pretty one-sided officiating. And when I say "pretty one-sided", I mean "absolutely blatant horseshit calls that almost always go in favor of Boston, with the occasional make-up call for Denver".

The NBA should fire that girl ref immediately. Every game I've ever seen her call has been horrible.

Not being sexist.

Just pointing out that the dumb bitch ought to go dress a Barbie or make me some dinner, leaving the refereeing to men.
