Link So, THQ is making a wrasslin' game that isn't Smackdown vs. Raw. It's called WWE All Stars and it honestly looks like the best wrestling game I've ever seen. It's like someone looked at NBA Jam or NFL Blitz and said "let's turn that into a wrestling game." It's fast. There's a life bar instead of worrying about momentum in your attacks. There's crazy unrealistic combos. The character models are like beefed up comic book super heroes. The signature moves are way exaggerated with motion trails and looking all SSX. It has all sorts of people from new and old era WWF from Andre the Giant to Bret Hart to Rey Mysterio Jr. to John Cena. I haven't wanted to play a wresting game since a number of years before I stopped caring about wrestling. I want to play this. |

-No weapons or blood -No Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley, and lots of other great wrestlers won't be in it because they're in TNA -Tag team matches and specialty matches (steel cage, battle royal, ladder match, lumberjack, etc) are noticeably absent from everything I've seen so far, and the game is about to come out -Has John Cena/the WWE logo on the box -Is made by the guys who made the TNA Impact video game, which quite frankly sucked -Almost no information on the game has been released in the last six months -Character models still pass through each other when colliding at points. Not saying the above instantly equates to a bad game, but I am not optimistic at this point. All we've seen are a few gameplay videos and screens, plus some THQ marketing hype. |

I don't have much of an interest in pro wrestling, but I played this N64 wrestling game over a decade ago and enjoyed it a bit. I mostly played Royal Rumbles. When it wasn't that, I ended up flinging people into some of the backstage rooms and brawling there, occasionally picking up a chair and other items to smash faces with. The only other notable feature I remember is holding down R after being knocked down, and then you'll get up into a crouch rather than a full stand. Wait for someone to get close enough, hit A or B (don't remember which), and DING! Whacked in the sack! (Or not quite, if it's a woman, but just as effective nonetheless in stunning for a second or two.) |

That would be WWF No Mercy, the greatest wrestling game ever made and the only good 3D one. |

I think I had that one. I didnt like how you would make a character, and end up being the champion and never get a chance to defend it because the cpu always made hhh vs the rock or austin the main event |

I'm with famicommander on this one. The N64 games were WAY better than the PS1 games. I remembered that Smackdown 2 would go through twenty loading screens before staring a match. Fuck that shit. My favorite WWF/WWE game is still No Mercy. That was a fun time if you had friends and 4 N64 controllers lying around. Wrestlemania 2000 was also good. So, I am more hopeful now than I was in the past. Turns out Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, and Ultimate Warrior are in the game. I'm surprised they're letting Hogan in, considering his current employer is WWE's biggest (and arguably only) competitor. Also, a preview I read today said that there are indeed steel chairs in the game. So yeah. Still not convinced, but definitely more optimistic. |

Everytime I have seen wrestling on T.V., there are always two guys in the ring and it goes down like this: 1) First guy does something to get the ref's attention. 2) Twenty other guys jump in the ring and start beating the second guy. 3) The ref doesn't notice what is going on, despite the audience booing and screaming, the announcers describing it, and large LCD screens displaying it. 4) The twenty guys leave. 5) The ref turns around and counts out the second guy, who he assumes just went unconscious for no reason. If the game is anything like that, it should be hilarious. |

from everything I've seen, it'll definitely be hilarious but for reasons completely unrelated to what you described. There aren't any referees from what I've seen. It's laid out mostly like a fighting game since you have a health bar, special and finishing moves. |
