Shmups are definitely in consideration as well. Hell, if I could hook them up with an MC Cthulhu board, I'd use them on the Saturn and Neo-Geo CD too. Those consoles practically demand arcade sticks due to their game libraries. And speaking of the Neo-Geo: those SNK compilations. You know which ones I'm talking about. Much cheaper than buying AES/MVS carts (let alone the base hardware itself, plus a supergun and other such things to consolize an MVS board), none of the load time of the NGCD versions, and user-selectable soundtracks between the AES/MVS and CD versions, among other things. It all depends on how well the Wii emulates the Neo-Geo with those versions (and if SSII really is censored like I've heard despite the other versions being uncensored; what's up with that?). The only thing I wouldn't like...well, I've used a similar stick, but a PS3 SFIV model supposedly modded with Seimitsu buttons. The stick may have been stock or Sanwa-not sure. Either way, I've found that I wouldn't really like square gates, and the buttons are way too large and not clicky enough. Ideally, I'd have an octogonal-gated stick (probably Seimitsu LS-56, but maybe a Sanwa JLF) and Happ/iL 24mm concave buttons with horizontally-mounted Cherry microswitches for that authentic American arcade feel. (Maybe they don't have to be concave, but the smaller size would allow me to not spread my fingers out so damn much.) Edited by NamelessFragger, Monday Nov 29 2010, 05:18 PM.
