I've seen malware that does what you are describing. The network devices on the infected computers would have exclamation marks in device manager and nothing that anyone tried would fix it. I tried installing different drivers, different network cards, and even a USB to Ethernet adapter. All of it would have exclamation marks in device manager after installing. I did some malware scans with Super Anti-Spyware, MalwareBytes, and ComboFix, all of which found and removed stuff, but the network problems remained. I did some various fixes that I saw online, but eventually I just wiped and reloaded the computers and everything worked fine afterward. |

I was under the impression that having your laptop plugged in all the time actually ended up killing your battery faster in the long run. Or something detrimental. |

Leaving it plugged in all the time was a bad thing when laptops used old NiCd batteries... and even with the newer Lithium Ion batteries it's not best practice but isn't so bad that it will fuck everything up. |

Pretty much anything you do with a battery kills it slowly over time: using it too much, using it too little, keeping it fully charged, completely depleting it, storing it at room temperature, etc. The ideal way to keep a battery healthy (charging it only up to a certain point, storing it in a freezer when not in use, etc.) is too impractical for a laptop that is used often. So, just don't worry about it and buy a new battery when your old one starts to die. They aren't that expensive anyway. |

Just employ some guys from the Geek Squad to take care of all your networking problems. I hear they have good work morals. |
