Yea you can use the builtin VM to run almost anything. As far as the sound issue goes, is it a game or DVD? If it's a DVD then 'you must construct additional codecs'. If a game then it's probably a driver issue. |

Oh, and you have to download and install the VM client first. It's a free dl from M$. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx |

Hmm if it works in Vista it should work in 7. What all have you done to try to fix the problem? |

read some forums and such. gave up it's weird though. the audio doesn't work AT ALL during cutscenes, but is perfect in gameplay. |

No, just...no. Not Microsoft Virtual PC. He'll still need the XP Mode installer, but I'd recommend VMware Player 3.x instead, maybe VirtualBox if it now supports that same XP Mode image. |

VM Ware is a much better solution, and it is what I use(Workstation 7 to be exact). Edited by -SG-, Tuesday Sep 28 2010, 01:43 PM.

It's ok son, your mother and I are having a talk. No matter what happens, it's not your fault. We are talking bout running virtual machines, so you can run XP on your 7 box to play GB. |

A good rule of thumb is any game that requires a good graphics card is going to run like shit in a VM. So that game will probably not run very well. XP Mode was provided for those businesses that have critical applications that will only run in XP, as an incentive for them to upgrade. It's not really good for anything else. |

If the game is at least ten years old, it will probably run in a VM. Sim City 2000, Age of Empires 1 and 2, Doom, etc. will all run fine. |
