There's one part where they basically say that since jets don't become more complex on their own, evolution doesn't exist. If one of the people is on my campus, I'm thinking about taking one of the books, ripping out the preface and handing it back to them, and saying "thanks".

Whether or not that source is a deity or derived from a philosophy is never officially established within the U.S. government. What is clear is that they do not proceed from the government and cannot be curtailed by the government. Pursuant to that philosophy, the constitution is a document of restriction against the government. That is, it specifically outlines the powers of the government and in some cases explicitly prohibits certain powers from government use. This is why government employees, myself included, have to swear an oath to abide by the constitution and no other citizen does.

But unfortunately, without government and the consent of the rest of the people, the rights would simply not be there. If it wasnt for the founders who started a government in the first place, we may not have anything close to what we have.
