I never saw it coming, and apparently he used to get them about 10 years back (He's a diabetic), calling the ambulance and seeing neighbors look to see what was going on is kind of embarrassing. I hope he'll be fine, I have a friend who gets seizures regularly so I'm guessing it's a pretty mild attack? It just makes me realize how vulnerable my parents are, I'm always believing that they'll pass away when I'm 50 or something, but this just made me think. In a positive note, maybe the doctor will tell him to stop eating so much.

we're all vulnerable. I don't want to sound morbid and I'm glad your pops if fine but we're not guaranteed time. Live with that idea in mind. Savor your experiences. |

He's ok they're just going to leave him in the hospital overnight. Well, I was in my room, and I heard this loud BANG coming from the bathroom, and I thought he slipped or something, so I went to check up on him, but all I kept hearing was this banging on the door, and I couldn't open it since it felt like he was pushing it from the other side. My mom rushed over and told me he was having a convulsion, and told us to stay calm and for my sis to call 911. My mom slid inside the bathroom and put him in the recovery position after the seizure had ended. By the time the paramedics came over he was sitting down and he had no recollection as to what just happened and just felt confused, when they left for the hospital I had to stay home to look after everything, and when I was cleaning up the bathroom, there was this hole on the damn door where he probably kept hitting his during the seizure (The paramedics said that he had a bruise on his head), and I felt guilty since I tried to open the door. So basically, I was fortunate enough to not see him having it, I think I would probably be scarred if I did. Edited by AzureEm, Friday, 6. November 2009, 22:00.

+1 We all will die one day. Some sooner than others. Be glad that your parents are still alive and try your best to make the time you get with them worthwhile. There is nothing "morbid" about death. It is completely natural and an eventuality. The sooner you can accept that, the more you'll get out of living life. It is good to hear he is alright. I generally don't do the whole "sympathy" thing, especially with people on the interwebs, but at least in our community, there is a tighter bond than say on a place like Gamespot. |
