If you take a look at movies in the past, some were made with the intentions of making quality. Now everything is driven by the profit motive, which has never been effective. If you want to do something great you will, but now, too much corporate bullshit is getting in the way. Its not necessarily the budget thats ruining games, its just the environment in which theyre being made. in the early days, development teams were very small, and the direction of the game was able to go into more interesting areas. Now, its gotta be some faggoty lame shooter like section 8 or something. Everyones there for money FIRST, the game comes second. back in the glory days, the great games were all made by people who probably would have made the games anyway, if they were given the resources. Nintendo appealing to casuals is what is going to keep consoles going. Video games are just a part of every day life now; they're mainstream pop culture. The game industry is just as big as the film and music industries now.
