The final boss fight was pretty retarded

was just gonna say that.

The inversion of the controls at that one part was a cool idea, but it was still a shitty boss.
I fail

It's kind of funny how that part on different platforms manages to have two completely opposite approaches to being a humongous ball of gay.

On the console version, the controls are just frighteningly imprecise.

On the PC version, you're just moving the pointer and clicking in what is basically an approximation of what opening and closing web-browser tabs would be like if the tabs were asteroids.

So much lame either way.

I wish I hadn't spent $40 on Dead Space... probably the most wasted money I've spent this generation. Followed closely by the $21 I spent on The Darkness.

I spent 30 on it. I haven't finished it yet but it seems okay so far.

I'm not gonna say I have super high taste in games or whatever. I like simple to understand shit that's fun to play which is why I love arcade style games and hate simulation style games.

shmups are simple as fuck. shoot everything that moves and don't get hit with the bright colored blobs.

But they're so goddamn fun.

When your FINAL BOSS is a series of tentacles, you know you suck at coming up with bosses.

I rented Dead Space with a friend. The pre-game cinematic was fucking hilarious, and we spent the entire night stomping one guy and watching his gelatinous insides bounce everyone. Totally worth it.

No. The gunplay was incredibly weak... and the game was really not fun to play. The story was really intriguing... but even Odin Sphere gave me some fun to push ahead to see what was next in the story.

It would have been nice had I been given all the cool powers from the beginning instead of the super shitty gunplay.

Agreed, just as there's nothing wrong with complex ones.

The problem is that some of the complex games have some nicely complex gameplay, but unnecessarily complex CONTROLS. For a modern aircraft sim like Falcon 4.0 or DCS: Black Shark, that's to be expected, but Operation Flashpoint/Armed Assault, where most of your time is spent on-foot and the game still takes up the whole damn keyboard?

Anyway, back on track-I didn't buy that game because it's not my type of game. There are other Wii games that I don't own, but I do like them-it's just that I happen to be short of this magical something called MONEY, and Wii games are still pretty damned expensive overall. (Guess I'm getting too used to buying old PC or last-gen console games for dirt cheap.)
