Capcom announces Super Street Fighter IV for spring 2010

Approx. 8 new characters and some gameplay tweaks will be added to SFIV 2.0 next year. It'll be released at a reduced price compared to the beta release...erhm...retail release. Also, SFIV and Super SFIV will not be compatible with each other online.

For those of you who didn't get SFIV, this is a good thing. For those of you who did...Capcom just fucked you...like they always seem to find a way to do.

Hopefully they remove the infinity combos and fix the fucking parry system. Then I'll buy it.

Meanwhile, SEGA still hasn't announced Virtua Fighter 5R for home consoles. Dammit.

that's right. Because the characters are balanced differently and there are more characters in Super. Plus there is an ultra meter or some shit like that in Super as well.

It's Street Fighter. Anyone who didn't see this coming is fucking stupid.

They can't even stop remaking Street Fighter II, for fuck's sake.

Because I knew it was going to happen. In fact, I think my reaction when SFIV was announced was, "How long until Street Fighter IV Special Edition?"

It is. It's unbalanced and shallow. But if the new version is balanced and deep, I might get it.

I cared about it when it was announced. I was there the first day the local arcade had it.

And then it sucked.

sf4 isnt shallow, and its very deep. if it wasnt deep, there would be no room for skill development, there is a parry system, its just not the same one as the one in sf3. the same mechanism that makes for parrying adds offensive depth in place of pure defense.

also, ssf4 was obviously coming out. i dont like how its not compatible with sf4 but whatever. all the positives of this game make it a must buy for me.

they are rebalancing it, because people complain a lot about sagat and seth. im not too worried about them, the only person that really need fixing is zangief. ex fireballs (or ex moves in general) should hit his lariat. other than that, the game is fine, and infinites dont work online the way it is, everyone tries them when they see them on youtube, but any character can break out of those combos, even people who just button mash. you see this a lot in G3 (newb section of championship mode)

they said it cant be dlc because its too big of an update, which makes sense because rebalancing can be tricky once everything is compiled unless they prepared for it, but i dont know if they did and theres no way to tell. plus 8 new characters and a bunch of other stuff would fill up my hd probably so im not too mad its not dlc.

also, theyre adding extra ultra moves for every character, every character already has one, except gen who has 2 (and will have 4 in ssf4)
