Because dickfags (krunk) used to post faggotry while the mods were away, then delete it before they god moderated. I allowed edits, but as an admin I can tell when a post has been edited. That way it wasn't a "he said she said" thing when users reported posts with pronz or something similar.

If I made a post and edited it to fix some grammatical errors, everyone else could just say "He had porn in it and then edited it out!" If I denied it, it would then be he-said/she-said, because you really have no idea what was in the post prior to the edit. Just because you know someone edited a post does not mean you know why they did it. Basically, you are assuming two things: No one on this forum is dickish enough to try to get someone banned for no reason. There are no legitimate reasons to edit a post (in which case, why allow for post edits in the first place?).
