Sports Resort will be hitting North America in the 26th, so I might as well do a review now before I turn too lazy to do it.

First off, do not treat Wii Sports Resort as a full game, but rather as a tech demo to show the capabilities of Wii Motion Plus.

If you plan on playing the game at parties, you only really need 2 Wii M+'s, since the only game where 4 players can play simultaneously is canoeing, and it's just not worth shelling out 60 extra dollars for 1 minigame. The rest of the games will either have you taking turns or have a 1 on 1 simultaneous competition.

Sports Resort is a compilation of 12 minigames (Each minigame has different modes to keep it varied.)
It's pretty much Wii Sports 2.0, The only difference is that you're now a newcomer to a vacation island of sorts. And every game that you play will be held in some part of the island. The game still keeps track of how well you do in a sort of experience chart, and if you pass the 1000 point mark you will turn into a "pro" just like in the last game. So really, not much has changed.

THE GAMES:

-Kendo (Also known as sword fighting)
My second favorite minigame in the entire game :D. It has 3 different modes, 1 VS. 1 sword fighting, precision cutting, and "War mode".
1) 1 VS. 1 sword fighting: Here you have the prime example of what M+ can really do, after you select your Mii you will be transported to an elevated stage of sorts held above water while a multitude of people watch you fight. No you can't decapitate or dismember! The object of the game is to hit your opponent enough so that they'll fall off the platform into the water. As I mentioned earlier, this game is a great example of what M+ can do, the accuracy is dead on. You could hold the sword sideways and it will be held sideways, hold it Kingdom Hearts style and it'll do just that. Hold it above your head and bring it down as hard you can to incapacitate your opponent. The motion controls here are truly great. My only gripe with the game is how easily it can be taken advantaged of, you could just waggle your controller as fast as you can and if you're opponent isn't quick enough to block your hits then you're pretty much the winner.

2) Precision Cutting: Another fun game, you and your opponent will stand side by side as the referee throws larger than life items at you (Oranger, Bread, diamonds etc.) and in order to win the round you have to cut the item across the shown arrow as fast as you can before your opponent. Sounds simple enough, but the motions are again 1:1 so this game is a great way to test your reflexes and waggling here won't help you :) I haven't found a single problem with this game.

3) "War Mode": When I first heard of War Mode, I imagined being my Mii in a battlefield full of other Miis killing each other, screaming in pain and watching as their comrades died with them. Unfortunately it's nothing like that, but it's still fun. In this mode, you alone have to take on tens of Miis as you follow a preset path, think of it as a on rails sword fighting simulator. It's still very well done, the satisfaction of taking out 5 miis with a single swipe of the sword is always a rush. And the hilarious physics from Wii Boxing make a comeback to always provide some chuckles. The AI here is not cheap but nor are they too easy. There are different settings too, from a beach, to a plain, to a wooden bridge etc. So it won't ever feel monotonous.

-Wake Boarding
...Eh...
Wake Boarding just has a single mode, with just 3 stages. While you are trailing behind the boat, you have to use the Wiimote & Nunchuck to jump the waves that the boat creates and move the Wiimote around to do tricks before you land on the water. It can be fun the first 2 times, but you won't be coming back to this one much.

-Frisbee
2 modes as far as I know (Frisbee golf & Frisbee with your dog)

1) Frisbee golf is just what it says it is, golfing with a Frisbee. Instead of trying to make it into a hole, you just have to throw the Frisbee over a certain targer. It's not a bad mode at all, the physics are all well impleneted, and the Frisbee glides and rolls just like a normal Frisbee would.

2) This mode is just great because of the cute ass puppy who reminds me of Wiki. :P In reality, it is kind of entertaining, you have to throw your frisbee into the air, while your puppy tries to catch it, the longer it is in the air, and the farther you throw it, the more points you get, but only if your dog manages to catch it. Thankfully, the dog is not retarded, and as long as you throw it to where he can physicially catch it, he will catch it.

-Archery

Only 1 mode with 3 sets of difficulties.

1) I enjoyed this mode a lot, be it by myself or with friends. Some of you righties might be put off at first by the fact that you have to hold the Wiimote with your left hand and the nunchuck with your right to accurately represent holding a bow. But you get used to it pretty quickly. You use the Wiimote to hold your bow steady and aim, your nunchuck is used to reperesent how much power you will put into the shot. The targets have 0-10 points, and you get 3 tries in one target, and there are 4 different targets per round & difficulty. During the later difficulties you will have to take the wind & falling time into account. The later difficulties will also add obstacles & moving targets.

-Basketball

2 modes (3 point shootout and 3 on 3 half court game)

My favorite game :D just because of the half court game.

1) In 3 point shootout you try to, guess what? Shoot three pointers :P You get 5 different angles to shoot at and 5 balls per angle. I guarantee you that you will do very poorly in your first game, but if you become addicted to it like I did, you'll be missing less and less balls.

2) In the second move, you play a very fun little game of 3 on 3, you can dribble/pass/steal/shoot/and dunk. The miis will move for you, but don't let that dishearten you. You will still enjoy the game very much, you dribble in order to get closer to the basket, you can pass the ball to your other teammates but you risk the chance of getting it stolen, and with a well timed move of the Wiimote, you can easily steal the ball from your dribbling opponent. Shooting here feels challenging and making a shot always feels rewarding, dunking is just so damn awesome, having to personally drop the Wiimote down while your Mii does the same in front of the faces of your friends is always a blast.

WILL CONTINUE REVIEW LATER, LAZINESS IS SETTING IN. lll-.-lll
