Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a fighting game for the Wii that is currently only available in Japan due to Capcom having license problems in the other regions.

OVERVIEW
T vs C is pretty much the spiritual successor of Marvel Vs. Capcom. Fights are 2 vs 2 and they are fought with 1 character from each side at a time. You can call your partner to assist you or to take his or her place.

The game contains 18 starting characters (9 from Capcom and 9 from Tatsunoko) and 4 secret characters (2 from Capcom and 2 from Tatsunoko)

The starting characters are:
TATSUNOKO
*Ken the Eagle
*Casshern
*Tekkaman
*Yetterman-1
*Polymar
*Gold Lightan
*Doronjo
*Karas
*Jun the Swan

CAPCOM
*Ryu
*Chun-Li
*Batsu Ichimonji
*Alex
*Morrigan Aensland
*Soki
*Rock Volnutt
*PTX-40A
*Roll

SPOILERS
The secret characters are:
*Hakushon Daimaƍ
*Ippatsuman
*Saki Omokane
*Viewtiful Joe

GAMEPLAY

You are able to play the game with an 8-way joystick/Wii Remore & Nunchuck/Classic Controller/and Gamecube Controller.

The fighting mechanics are similar to the previous Marvel vs. Capcom games. Characters can call their partner to do an Assist attack. Snapback is an attack that forces the opponent to switch characters if the attack connects. Hyper Variable Combination lets characters of one team perform their Hyper moves (Their special attack), attacks that require a stock of level (You start with 0 stocks and can gain up to 5), at the same time, each character has a launcher attack to send the opponent to the air, allowing the character to do an Aerial Rave.

The only problem I have is with the arcade mode; it starts off really easy, but once you get to the final boss the difficulty gets boosted so far up that it is nearly impossible to beat it without spamming a few moves.

I have only played with the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo and the mechanics are extremely simple to pull off. I have no gripes with the controls.

STORY

It doesn't really have much of a story, you just play through arcade mode. There's a final boss at the end and each character has a different ending. It's a fighting game, don't expect much. :P

GRAPHICS & SOUND

Posted Image

The game looks phenomenal, it has a great looking 3D engine and it never lags on me no matter how many things are going on at the same time. The effects are superb and the Hyper specials will remind you of the old Marvel Vs. Capcoms. The levels are varied and contain a lot of things going on in the background. The character models are very detailed and some characters have a cel-shaded/3D look to them.

The sound is pretty topnotch, the attacks will remind you of the old arcade games, the voice actors have done a great job with the screams and grunts of each characters. The music is just so-so, nothing special but nothing horrid.

EXTRAS

There are minigames for each character (That means 22 different minigames), there is a training mode, a survival mode and of course a Versus mode.

There is also a shop where you can buy the secret characters/levels/bios/and BGMs. You get $800 each time you finish arcade mode and the prices are varied ($200 for a bio/$1000-$2000 for a character)

CONCLUSION

The game is something the Wii really needed, we may not gotten Street Fighter 4, but T vs C is still a welcome addition to the Wii Library. Of course the game is currently JPN only and if you just happen to have a Japanese Wii then lucky you. :P

The good thing though is that there is still A chance that American Wiis will get to play the game.

9/10

It is a fun game, but I think it is a little shallow myself. Some of the minigames are fun, but most are pretty meh.

I can't shake the feeling that the game was a quick cash in for Capcom.

Idk about that, to me it looks like they took their time, sure they did port it, but they did a heck of a good job considering they were porting it to the Wii. :P

Nope, though the American release is rumored to contain more characters.

I think the Wii needs a serious street fighter game, so they should put in pretty much everyone from sf2 at least.

Every console should have a street fighter, just like they should all have madden.

Madden is fucking awful, first off. I can't wait until EA's exclusive NFL license is up so I can play a decent football game again.

Second, I want no part of any future Street Fighter if it's anything remotely similar to IV.

In fact, I want Capcom to go to time out and think about what they've been doing. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Resident Evil game entailed nothing more than raping the corpse of a guy with a Resident Evil shirt on. They already ruined Dead Rising, they're charging for online on one of their Monster Hunter Wii games (charging for online one a fucking WII game? fuck you)... And what in the FUCK have they done to Mega Man?

Tatsunoko Vs Capcom and Spyborgs had better be fucking outstanding.

It's criminal that a studio with the talent to create games like Zack and Wiki is too busy ruining the franchises they're known for to make a decent game.

You didn't enjoy Megaman 9?

And don't worry about the MH game, they did charge for online play, but they always do that for the Japanese release, and never for the American/European releases, It's not confirmed yet, but I doubt they'll have p2p for us.

Mega Man 9 was good.

I was referring to Mega Man ZX.com Advent Jesus 2.0. And Mega Man Battle Network 61. And Mega Man Star Force Dicks in Your Face Sapphire. And Mega Man Compilation version 33.

When you have a series with more compilations than Sonic, you're in trouble. Especially when you consider that it has less games worth playing than the Sonic series in the first place.

As long as the hardcore Megaman fans keep buying, there's nothing we could do about it. :P

I stick away from the sequels and just wait for compilations. More games for less the price.

The problem is the main Mega Man series has only had one update since the Saturn/PS1. That's the platform Mega Man 8 was on. There's no excuse for it taking until now for us to get 9, and I'm still pissed it was download-only. There's no reason it couldn't have been released as a DS card or on UMD for PSP.

I prefer fighters with depth.

Isn't there a fighting on the 360/PS3 called BlazBlue that's in the same vein as those fighters you like Fammi?

I hear blazblue is good, the only thing stopping me from getting it is that you usually have to dedicate a lot of time to fighters to get good at playing them against people, and i already do that with sf4 and hd remix.
