![]() When playing the demo, it was apparent that I was the only one that loved it, while every one else either tolerated it or completely hated it. While no one can be right or wrong when it comes to something like this, I can now make a more in-depth defense for this game. ![]() This game takes place entirely during the daytime While this game cannot be considered a survival horror game, nor can it be considered scary, it still has atmosphere and more tension than most people can handle by themselves... ![]() And with that, I can introduce Sheva! Wow! I'm good! Sheva can either be controlled by A.I or by a human, she can also defend herself in combat, combine this with the fact that she's also African, this makes her way better than Ashley. Although the way she is introduced right off the bat makes it damn clear that Capcom wants you to think of her as a sex object which is shallow, at the very least. I strongly recommend that you play through with a friend, as the game will be more enjoyable and you will spend less time managing inventory. Sheva, while being controlled by A.I., will not use grenades, will overuse herbs and occasionally overuse ammo. On top of her taking her sweet time to help you when you get grabbed by zombies, and she wont manage her own inventory, playing solo can be more trouble than it's worth at times. Playing on amateur with a friend the first time is a mistake, as increased mobility, characters being controlled by humans and double the firepower make this game almost a cake walk even on the harder difficulties. Getting on with the actual game now, the plot revolves around Chris Redfield's story arc, and the mysteries that have come up since the first game, there won't be any questions left after the end of the game, well maybe one. Albert Wesker is the main antagonist, and might I add, one of the best to come around in a while, his power to dodge bullets and superhuman strength make him a worthy foe to say the least. But now, a project called "Uroboros" has shown it's face in a remote African village called Kijuju. It seems that Uroboros is the name of an improved form of Las Plagas that appeared in Resident 4. This means that all of the enemies will be smarter, stronger, and faster, and they are, so stay on your toes. This brings up why this game contains so much tension, since you enemies will rush you often and throw their hatchets cautiously in order to make a better shot, top that off with inventory that won't take you out of the game, this game can get very hectic at times. Timed button presses make a return here and they are more random than ever. In Resident Evil 4, you would be walking along a path, then, it would cut to a scene of a couple of villagers pushing a boulder down upon you. RE 5 is kind of like that, but without the scene beforehand, sometimes (and literally) something will come out of the wall to try and kill you without any warning at all. The sound, graphics, and character animations are second to none. No bullshit. A lot of people say that RE 4 still looks great, well, who knows how long we will be saying this about RE 5, to give you an example of how well the characters are animated, there is a character named Irving, and before he speaks a single line of dialogue, you know that he is completely insane. ![]() Looks like someone who volunteers on weekends maybe? While the gameplay is heavily action oriented, there is some level exploration to be had if you want to unlock everything the game has to offer, BSAA emblems are hidden all over almost every level, and they can be fun to find, although sometimes they can be cruelly hidden. Speaking of unlockables, there is tons of it, there is plenty to do once you've finished the game. There are figurines to unlock (You get an achievement if you unlock them all), infinite ammo for every gun once you've upgraded it fully, an extra difficulty level, 2 costumes for each character, and much more. It's safe to say that you get more than you moneys worth with this game. This game has no slow points to be found, there is a nice balance between resting points and and sparks of intense fighting. You can be in the middle of a puzzle when more enemies show up. This is both unexpected an forces you to keep alert at all times, boss fights are frequent and furious, and enemies are highly improved. If there are any problems to be had, it is that A.I Sheva is lacking compared to a human controlled one, and the length of 12-15 hours might be to short to many people (Trust me, you don't want this game to end), and some people are perplexed at the fact that this game is more of an action movie instead of a survival horror game, which didn't bother me at all, I play games for fun, and that what this game has focused on to the fullest of it's abilities. I agree. Just picked it up and I love it so far. I think too many reviewers have RE4 on the brain. It's a great game so far. |

Yahtzee is totally wrong, you'll always have more than enough room in your inventory unless you hoard everything or make Sheva hold everything. Ashely is NOT better than Sheva, unless you think Sheva without guns is better than Sheva with. Which it isn't And when he complained about the village part, I lol'd, what the fuck do you expect to find in Africa? A bunch of white people playing Xbox 360s? |

The only game I've ever gotten all the achievements for was Mass Effect. And I played it all the way through on the 360 6 times, so that was bound to happen. |
