It seemed the life of a leader was crammed end to end with talking. Since his ascension to the forefront of an organization in shambles Shinji had shuttled from one rendezvous to the next, staying long enough in each place to insure the people he met would find setbacks along their path to contention in this arms race. To say he was tired of the duties, sick of the wear that came with his flighty endeavors in the two realms that were not within his jurisdiction was an understatement. So it was with relief that Shinji now found himself with feet firmly propped up before him and hands laced upon his flat torso. His eyes were closed to the harsh light that illuminated this hall's interior but left the walls blackened and his posture was surely one of a man sleeping. The Rey's chest rose and fell with the sure metronome of unconsciousness and the placid expression which plastered his face proved he was content with how things had gone thus far. As his officers began to pile in the room they would be greeted with this serene and picturesque view of their leader and relax on sight, assured of the perfect turn of events that now saw the Arrancar sprinting ahead of their two greatest rivals. It couldn't be said that Shinji's coup hadn't resulted in a righting of the ship he now laxly navigated; never had the Arrancar been seen as anything but a danger to themselves (or more recently, a bunch of bratty upstarts). Or perhaps they would react with exasperation? Yes he had been a breath of fresh air in taking on the Shinigami, but the outcome was not sure enough to warrant a nap; even if it did precede the meeting his summons had started. The fact was the Gotei would be after this Espada as soon as they realized it had been their turncoat of a leader that had sprung those unstable souls free. And despite the feel good story that Shinji had -semi- witnessed as three of his hollow turned away the human resistance in the humans own backyard, the fact remained that the Shinigami as slow and ancient as they were at times, maintained an identity as a beast of a different name altogether. Theirs was still the credibility, the continuity, the authority. As the first step to getting his Armada prepared for the storm he had brought to their door, Shinji had to address his highest ranking officials, those generals that were always scattered to the wind or just not bothered to be easily found; his Espada. Let the Gotei come, they'd find a much more fearsome force than even the beast that had beaten back their attack seventy years ago. The person they would have to thank for their most complete defeat would be this slumbering pile of clothes at one end of this enormous bone-white table. Edited by Shinji, Aug 10 2010, 09:17 AM.

Walking in with a yawn and a stretch, the Escudo lazily sat on the edge of the opposite end of the table, looking all the way to the other side at the overworked Rey. Fun, sleeping on the job, eh? It was a rare sight to see Shinji sleeping like he was..but it wasn't something that was truly unexpected. Even though he had high durability like his younger sibling, Shinji was the Rey, he committed himself to alot of hard work and planning..but it was funny to see him resting in such a way. He smirked, thoughts flowing into his head of a new king..if Shinji didn't pick up the pace and keep up with this war, he would be taken out, leaving Rouskei as the new Rey.. ..not a half bad idea. Bam! Bam! Bam In rapid succession with each other these sounds occurred as Rouskei slammed his fist down upon the table, the vibrations more than enough to wake up his slacking brother,"Get your ass up! Our first meeting and your resting? Thats a big no no Shinji.."Rouskei said as he crossed his arms now, awaiting his brothers reply. What was going through the Rey's mind? He wondered what was up next for this new born Armada. The plans he came up with were great, but hardly traceable. The direct thought would be an attack on the Seireitei now, but in all actuality since that would be the expected response Shinji would probably have something else in his arsenal of tactics, something more unexpected and cunning. Whatever it was, Rouskei would be the one who would pull out the hard work for it, just like with the escape of inmates from the Nest of Maggots. "Whats next, bro?.." Rouskei said, eyes fixed on his brothers image. Whatever was coming, he would carry it out until he saw a reason not too. Rouskei may be his brothers Escudo, but they are brothers before ranking, and his stubborn attitude would never let Shinji have full control over him.. never.. |

Change. Changes could upset carefully laid plans with greatest ease, but they were also ample providers of opportunity. Fortunately then for En'dis Alma, recent changes within Las Noches had been quite desirable. Only one year had passed since he claimed the rank of Primera Espada, and so not a great deal had been accomplished on his part during that time - he had grown accustomed to the palace, discovered what he could about the other major arrancar that lived there, heard more about the epic clashes between the arrancar and shinigami that he had avoided. He had known some of these things before; a man did not choose his enemies without knowing them, and En'dis had once seen the denizens of Las Noches as just that, but now he knew more. He had acquired what seemed like some fine Fraccion, who had recently gone on the display a stunning lack of competence and were now dead. That left him without his assistants, his direct subordinates - added to the fact that the old Reyna had been...stagnating, a being who had ruled for five years and accomplished little of note in that time - En'dis was quite happy to see her go and be replaced by someone new. Entirely new at that. No Espada had suddenly risen up, ambition burning in their eyes, striking down their master...no, a wholly unknown figure had strode into Las Noches, defeated the Reyna and her Escudo, and proceeded to devour them both. En'dis had some small amount of respect for such strength - the traditional system of the arrancar, where one could kill whoever held the rank one desired, had many flaws, but often, it could make positions of leadership stronger. That was a plus. The fact he knew nothing at all about this new Rey - nothing save the name - was...mildly annoying. Information and knowledge were important to En'dis - they could allow him to do great things. Just as there was a new Rey, he had very quickly appointed a new Escudo - yet again an arrancar that En'dis had no knowledge of. Well. He could work with that. He had seen the pair once or twice, but he had spoken to neither so far, thus when he heard of a meeting, he was quite pleased. This would be a fine chance to see what kind of leader the arrancar now had. If he had grand ideas, then all was good. En'dis would be able to make use of his talents effectively, and the Hueco Mundo would see victory. If the universe was against him, however, this leader would be naught but an near-unthinking brute with a goal, possessing power enough to slay the Reyna and a will strong enough to follow his goal, damn whatever advice En'dis or anyone else cared to give him. Hopefully, that would not be the case. The very fact a meeting was called made En'dis have some hope in this Rey...but ultimately, if the Rey was a negative factor within Las Noches, things could become unpleasant. En'dis hated when things became unpleasant. Leaving behind his chosen quarters - a room that was still a work in progress, lacking the kind of decoration that En'dis would have preferred - the Espada began the journey to the designated meeting room. Pesquisa active, as it often was, he could sense that he was unlikely to be the first present - the Rey was currently there, of course, for that reiatsu could only belong to the Rey, and what En'dis believed was the Escudo was closer than En'dis himself was. Fortunately, the distance was not too great; he would still arrive punctually, even whilst walking. He didn't desire to move any faster - he wasn't about to run to a meeting, or anything more extreme...just a brisk walking speed. It would suffice - he was still going to arrive before any of the rest of the Espada And so he did. En'dis opened the door and walked through...waiting within, as his senses had told him, was the Rey and the Escudo, the latter looking intently at the former, who appeared rather tired. The masked Espada didn't say a word as he entered the room and took his place at the table...it was unnecessary. The Rey, this Ichidoushin Shinji, had asked for a meeting. He clearly had matters to discuss. Until his input was required, En'dis would merely listen and watch. |

That was when the 4th Espada arrived. To Shinji or Rouskei it might have seemed as if he had a different face, body, gender and wardrobe every time he showed up… and he probably did. Apparently he was a woman this time, with a face Shinji might have recognized – the face of his sister. She chose to make an entrance by way of gargantuan, straight into the meeting room. What was interesting was that she actually fell into the meeting room from what was basically a hole in the air, riding some strange chair on the way down with legs crossed and in her usual revealing uniform. A flood of pictures fell through behind her… with what appeared to be a table falling in beneath them. Of course they all landed harmlessly behind her, while her chair landed facing the table at the center of the meeting room. How the chair didn’t collapse from the drop was a mystery, and how Samsara didn’t even flinch was one too. “The potentially troublesome human numbers might be thinning sometime soon. Brandolf’s poker-face turned out to be perfect for the job of convincing them to go after the hot-spots.” She and most of the rest of her combined mind had a feeling they’d manage though, provided they heeded Brandolf’s advice on avoiding Aokigahara. “We may also be able to trade information with them under the guise of this fictional ‘shadow-organization.” Uncrossing her legs and propping them up on the table, leaning back in her chair in the process, she added one last tidbit, “But God are some of them stupid. One of them threatened us in public using his spiritual powers and then when we swung a punch for his face he continued to charge up some amount of spiritual energy. As if he thought the growing presence in the building wasn’t enough to give it away.” Lacing her fingers behind her head, her dangerous but comfortable position had been properly attained. “So, what’s going on elsewhere in my Bro's new kingdom?” |

With each successive knock the wrinkle between Shinji's eyebrows etched itself deeper still. As the first rap had slammed against the table the healing slumber was broken, and the source known to Shinji before his eyes had even sprung op-BAM! This new noise had rattled his now conscious brain with thoughts of violence to be inflicted upon the little bastard. Being the Escudo was not walk in the park to be sure. It was a nap in the park, with violins humming in the background and birds chirping overhead. It was that easy. How did Shinji know it was hardly challenging enough for the boy? Well the high level of energy he always deployed when irking his older sibling was sign enough that the Escudo needed more chores around the palace and Hueco Mundo. He would have to make a note to hand more tasks down to the childish shield through Hitsuko, his mouthpiece for those issues he'd rather not handle himself. That third rap on the table? Oh that was the signal that someone was looking for violence before the meeting truly began. For the sake of the child Shinji would keep up his charade of feigned sleep (the wrinkle between the brow truly gave him away, instead of looking like rest he seemed to be in deep thought). Why he would want to wake the resting King before any of the other Arrancar had arrived was beyond Shinji. Surely he didn't want information that would soon be disclosed to the rest of the group once it had assembled did he? What sense would it make for Shinji to give him the same summary the rest were about to get and then repeat himself? No, Ichidoushin Rouskei valued his life too much for- "Whats next, bro?.." Too much credit had been given to this sharer of Shinji's genes. With a heavy sigh the elder of the two brothers opened his eyes in time to observe the entrance of the Primera. It wouldn't do to reprimand or lecture the Escudo in front of others (he wasn't -that- kind of leader) but the impatience in his eyes was clear for all those gathered. Now there were two of the intended double-digit invitees present, and no Rouskei, that was not enough to motivate Shinji to trigger the meeting. So it was with drowsy eyes that he shifted his glance from his chief bodyguard to the Primera on the right of the boy. Those sleep-drunk pupils locked with the calculating stare of this strange Espada as he willed the time forward, a casual competition to see who would get sick of the others visage first. It beat the pants off from looking too hard at the eager face on the opposite end of the table. Speaking of relatives. With a crash that finally yanked Shinji's eyes away from the mute Primera, Samsara entered the room, along with half of the room she must have just vacated. It was a veritable family reunion with all three siblings in one place, and if time had called for it Shinji might have even gathered them all up for a picture. It appeared however that a large number of the Espada he had been waiting for had silently slipped into room and now rested in their well shadowed seats as they waited for this meeting to get underway. How long exactly had he been challenging En'dis? The only two missing now were his Cero who was off on a mission with the Menos, and the Trecera Nieva. He was ready to start, she could get the catch-up from her neighbor, the ever gabby Samsara. Who was spilling news like they were running a no-huddle conference. "Slow down slow down," came the plaintive cries of Shinji as he shook his head and strove to loosen the exhaustion which still lingered in his brain. Something about Baku, something about Hot-Spots, and something about thinning out the herd? It was like the woman had no pacing, patience or desire to be coherent. It was not the way he had foreseen the first meeting going, the priorities and speed of which so far was being dictated by his impatient brother and hyper sister. |
