![]() ![]() Division Flower: Pasque Flower (Seek Nothing) Division Colour: AmberActing Captain: Youkai Kazuko Acting Vice-Captain: Hiako Setsuai Synopsis The Gotei 13’s 2nd Division is devoted towards the practices of recon advances and vanguard manoeuvres. Members of the 2nd Division are known for their versatility in both cooperative and solo situations, but it is by working with other members of their Division that they shine most. The 2nd Division trains its members rigorously to be team-oriented through specially conducted regimens by stressing stealth, agility, resourcefulness, team synergy, and the ability to virtually overwhelm their opponents with blitzkrieg manoeuvres. It is through this that they earn the title of being the elite advance special operations and reconnaissance unit, one formed to gather all intact articles of intelligence from the outset of battle, and to devastate the initial enemy ranks with complex tactics. Because of their role of being the first to engage the enemy, the burden of gathering vital information while it is fresh is placed upon the shoulders of this Division’s members. What is meant by reconnaissance in the 2nd Division is gathering and evaluating any and all articles of intelligence before they are lost in the heat of battle, and it is because of this that 2nd Division units play a crucial role in important movements against the enemy. The 2nd Division also emphasizes its ability to complete mission objectives with utmost efficiency and speed through a seemingly invincible team effort. By assuming the role of a vanguard special operations unit, the 2nd Division is usually chosen to commence hostilities against the opposition first, bringing to the fore an ingenuity in forming on-the-spot tactical operations to cripple, if not eradicate the enemy in as little time as possible, hence the designation “vanguard spec-ops.” Members of the 2nd Division usually bring with them an array of specialized weapons and tools, arming themselves to deal with worst case scenarios. With that, they usually wear modified clothing to accommodate easy access to and the security of such items. The strengths of each member are monitored and individually honed to their fullest, all the while their weaknesses are compensated through team training. They emerge strong in both body and spirit, and in battle, their weaknesses, if any, are well-concealed and overshadowed by their polished specialties. Being in such a demanding Division requires a jack-of-all-trades characteristic, not to mention the traits of resourcefulness, unwavering focus, ingenuity, and above all, an unseen loyalty to the team and to the authorities of Seireitei. Members of the 2nd Division are known to be reserved in conversations, yet willing to add their thoughtful input when they feel it is warranted. Their ability to sum up pressuring situations is awe-inspiring to say the least, and yet they possess a quality that makes them easily befriended and trusted. Onmitsukidō "If you see your allies losing, that's your chance. Don't step between them. Take the enemy down from behind. And if the enemy is so strong you can't even do that, then just watch your ally be killed. That's what it means to be Onmitsukidō." The Onmitsukidō is a special strike unit under the command of the Central 46 Chambers. It is divided into five units, each of which has its own special duties to carry out. These duties range from relaying information to patrol, discipline and assassination. If the Gotei 13 are considered an exterior guard, then the Onmitsukidō is an interior, covert guard. Originally a separate branch of Soul Society's army. The head of the Onmitsukidō is called Commander-in-chief (総司令官, sōshireikan). The leaders of each of the divisions are ranked as Corps Commander (軍団長, gundanchō). Given that the Onmitsukidō is currently tied with the Gotei 13's 2nd Division, each Corps Commander also holds a Seated Officer position in said division. The Commander-in-chief of the Special Forces generally also commands top division of the Special Forces, which is the Executive Militia and it is known that the 3rd Seated Officer is the Corps Commander of the Detention Unit. It may be said that the order of the five divisions also goes in order of the top five officers of the 2nd Division. There are five divisions within the Onmitsukidō, for which the first has the most authority, and the fifth has the least. The five divisions in order of authority are:

![]() Kazuko sat slouched in her large velveteen executive chair, her arms crossed beneath her breasts and her bottom lip jutting out slightly as she chewed at the insides in thought. Her brow was furrowed deeply and there was a continuous tapping sound coming from her desk, where her foot kept striking it in fast succession. One didn't have to be a genius, or a body language expert to know that she was anxious. Well, it was more a mix of anxiety, anger and disappointment. Anxiety because she had been taken out of her forced retirement and been thrown directly into the deep end. Anxiety because she wasn't sure if she still had what it took to be a Captain of the Gotei. Anger because she was pissed the fuck off, anger wasn't the right word for the rage that bubbled up inside of her, it didn't cover it, it didn't do it justice and it certainly didn't express her true displeasure. Disappointment because she had been so easily played. So easily distracted by the sophistication and formality of her reinstatement and the Commodore's coronation. Why was she all of these things? Well, Kazuko had a metaphorical knife lodged in her back. It was positioned so that no amount of stretching for it would let her reach it. It was twisted in there and it had been put there by the last person she had expected. She had known that she and Shinji were on opposite teams, but she had underestimated how fully he planned on playing his part. It didn't seem to matter to him that the Nest and thusly, everyone held within it, was strictly her responsibility, and it would strictly be her who was charged with dealing with it. Similarly, it didn't matter to Noriko that Kazuko hadn't even had time to get herself comfortable let alone to become negligent. Still, the fact remained that Kazuko was the Commander-in-Chief of the Nest and that nest had been rumbled. Her prisoners, escaped. Her guards, killed. The mess, hers to clean up, and didn't Noriko let her know it? "I was going to issue you with the task of investigating Tatti's death, but recent events have forced me to rethink my tactics." Noriko stood by the open window, she had ordered the several members of her entourage to wait outside for her, thinking that Kazuko might be inclined to act up if she had a suitable audience. "These are your prisoners that have gone AWOL. So far, the only people who know about the breakout are you and I. As well as those who caused it." Now that wasn't exactly true...Noriko was a studious woman. She had her suspicions about those within her own ranks. "So long as you can get them back, or at least bring those responsible to light, then no one else needs to know about it." Kazu finally looked at the Commodore, her yellow eyes narrowing as her stare bore holes into the back of the womans skull. She wondered why Noriko though Kazu cared about this getting out. There was the fact that it would only add to the hostility her peers met her with, the cat calls and the laughing would increase ten fold. People would question her validity. But if Kazuko had been looking to correct all of that, she probably would have made a serious personality adjustment already. She suspected that Noriko knew that, but still Kazuko was play along. She’d play this game the way the book told her to, in the same way Shinji was playing things. Dirty. Of course, Kazuko had decided it was down to Shinji. She hadn’t been told it, and she certainly didn’t have the hard evidence to prove it. But she knew it was him. She knew her prisoners were in Hueco Mundo. He’d fooled her, he had sent in his Samsara gigai and she had made the mistake of believing that he gave a damn. Well, if his Armada was his new best friend, so be it. Kazuko would entertain herself with her growing bitterness and she’d hunt him to the ends of every world he ran to. First though. “And what about Raizen? You know he wasn’t there. He was the only one not there at the party. But he was in Seireitei. Why didn’t he stop it? Why didn’t he report it?” Kazuko was thinking out loud. Raizen had always had a boner for Shinji, and the positioning of his eyes [too close together] had always told her never to trust him. Noriko turned around to face her, a serene smile upon her face, but Kazuko could tell her look was cold, hidden as it was behind her orange lenses. “Well, it looks like you know where to start.” The Commodore gave Kazuko a soft nod by way of dismissal, then she waited expectantly at the door for Kazuko to ‘see her out.’ Edited by Youkai Kazuko, Aug 11 2010, 05:19 PM.
