NEBOSH HSW or health and safety at work, is an award level qualification in the field of health and safety. This qualification is international and is recognised in many countries. It is an introductory course on occupational health and safety and it also deals with international standards at work. The syllabus consists of two units – workplace safety foundations and workplace risk assessment. The workplace safety foundations deal with the foundations and responsibility of health and safety. It also deals with the various hazards and controls associated using electricity, work equipment and handling equipments. Transport safety and fire safety are also the part of the syllabus. NEBOSH HSW certificate is awarded at the successful completion of the course. The practical assessment on risk assessment in workplace should also be completed. The course enables individuals or workers to identify the various hazards in their work or industry and abide by the safety regulations. It encourages them to work safely and progress with their work. Employers should introduce their workers to the health safety course. They can also recruit the persons who have completed the course. The course is ideal for any industry and all workers or employees can complete this qualification. Health and safety at work course acquaints the workers with the various hazards in their work site and these hazards can be averted.
