This is a world in which nothing is as it initially appears. The landscape shifts if your focus lapses. Battles are decided before they're begun. Nobody takes heed of the rhythm of life. The Flux, core of this and all other worlds, reigns supreme and through it nothing is ever as it appears. Are you bold enough to take the fateful step into the essence of insanity? If you turn back now, you'll never know just what it is you're missing out on.

The Flux
While for the most part we leave everything up to you, there are several rules regarding Pokemon that we feel we must enforce for fairness towards everybody.

MOVES
now, we have no qualms with your pokemon using their movepools to their advantage. it's only sensible, of course. however, you can't honestly expect to have your first battle be with a pidgey and you defeat it in one hit because your geodude knows rock throw. no. it doesn't make sense for a move it learns at a higher level to be immediately available to it. likewise, you can't instantly have your pokemon know how to combine rollout and ember to create a mock fire wheel. it takes practice. remember this and we'll have no need to deny your roleplays for credibility.

EVOLUTION
evolving your pokemon always brings tears of joy to your eyes. unless, of course, you don't want it to evolve, in which case you chuck your ever-present everstone at its head. however, it can't evolve whenever it feels like it. you need to have gathered up enough experience for your precious pocket monster to evolve. this means it should be in at least three battles, as a general rule. if it's a pokemon like caterpie that evolves at an insanely low level, make it two or so, but it can't just be 'ohokayonefightmetapodtime'. likewise, if it evolves at a higher level, like skorupi, then maybe it will need more battles. a general rule of thumb you could follow is levels required divided by four. yes, it is bolded because we're trying to beat it into your skull.

CAPTURING
we don't mind at all if you obtain a pokemon without having to go through the tedious battling and capturing phase. however, the more powerful the pokemon, the better the roleplay needs to be. it also makes no sense for the first pokemon you catch to be a charizard. you've got to remember, your geodude can't defeat that pidgey with one attack. likewise, he cannot be used to catch an insanely strong pokemon unless he's insanely strong or at least strong enough to whittle its stamina down. something more realistic would be, say, a charmander. after a grueling battle, it's yours. there aren't going to be strict guidelines about what can and cannot be caught. it's up to you, the roleplayer, to determine what's allowed based on these guidelines. and yes, we will deny it if you try to capture that charizard.
